Hm, seems to be a problem with transparency in Flash. Can anyone else on Linux confirm this?

Why is the "Regnum Online" title in Flash anyway, it'd do much better as a PNG.

Confirmed, it shows up like in your screen.

The Regnum word flashes when it loads, so that's why they can't change it.

As far as I know, the linux flash plugin does not support transparency :(

Mhm^^
With activated NoScript Plugin I don't even see that bar and the image :D. In this thread I saw it the first time.

well, the website maintainer perhaps could make it so that there would be an alt image in there instead of that flash for linux people :angel1:

I would not think so much about a picture on the page.... The game is more important ngd! :)

I think the flash should just be done away with...

The only thing lost would be the hover-animation on the navigation, and if you found a good javascript programmer even that could be restored.

A static hover state on the navigation could be easily accomplished using CSS. Then the title...it might as well just be a PNG, I don't see anyone noticing a difference, since it doesn't look like it animates and it doesn't need to be resized.

Then the plus side: besides us Linux-ers being happy, there's also increased accessibility for anyone that doesn't have Flash installed. Using Flash as the primary means of navigating isn't a good idea anyway.

---
Off topic: I do like the Regnum site a lot better than many other sites. Lots of game sites are made almost completely (or actually completely) out of Flash, which eats up your resources like crazy and is annoying.

DHTML is a fancy name for javascript...

and if you found a good javascript programmer even that could be restored. if so then they could do what i thought they should, with javascript they could make it detect the OS & flash version(or there being none) and then making it show a png instead if the sites browser uses linux :)
