View Full Version : A complete manual?

Well, can someone tell me if there is a complete manual for the game somewhere. Something more complete than the basics given on the official site.

I would like to have more in depth informations. For instance how does armor work, how is exp calculated, how damage is calculated. What's the diffrence between the damage types of staffs (they have small icons to indicate damage type ...)

Before someone tells me there is an ingame help, it's empty in the english game (at least with the linux client). Oh, and please, don't point me to a spanish manual ;)

why do you need to know such things?
what you want is no manual. just try things out, most concepts of this game are very intuitive.

I'm actually working in a site with such information.
No links by now, there is too much work to do yet, but we wiil try to cover all the aspects of game: Quests, items, citizens, powers, classes, geography, fauna...

soon i will post a thread to calling for help. We need some english and other languages users.

I think NGD will deal with this later, but they are involved in coding the game, more than making "not-finished" manuals.

Your suggestion is the proof that we need something like that for new players.

The help in the spanish game is blank too (linux and windows), it's already reported.

Well, just a single example : Is it better to buy a staff that deals 10-15 damage with a fireball icon (fire damage i guess) or one with a lightning icon (electrical damage?)
Of course i could buy both, attack the same target 25 times with both staffs and make statistics as to wich one works best, but honestly there is more interesting things to do ;)
I don't really NEED them either, i was just curious, and i like to know what to do, and where i'm going rather than just trying out. It must be my TBS player's part that is speaking to much :D

@ Snoid : great, i hope the link will be easy to find when you are finished

just try it out...
or you can ask: what is the best weapon and skill combination for pvp?
that is definetly no question to be answered here.
in rpg terms this is a spoiler, things that could be found out by exploring the world and trying shouldn't be posted to an official forum.
it's ok if some people make pages with these things everyone is free to visit, or not. but please leave the ones who love to explore a virtual world on their own their fun. you know many people play rpg's exact for that reason. (me not, i play only to kill elves *joke*)
and btw. i prefer looting instead of buying ^^

OK then a better one : Should i place my "special power points" (not sure the name is true) in mental spells, or in enchantment. I don't know what spells i will gain, nor what level i need to reach to gain a new spell ...
And why is it impossible to train in mental spells while i have enough points to reach next level. Maybe i can't gain more than one level in either skill by (global) level? Or maybe i can't have a skill that is 2 points higher than the next one?

I don't need someone to tell me everything about every single quest in the game, just some informations to prevent me from doing something stupid that can't be undone. I don't think it's spoiler.

To give a real-life example, if you are about to send soldiers to the front, there will be some instructor to tell them "this rifle is better than this one if you need to kill someone at long distance, but this one is great for short range" rather then "go to the armory and pick a random rifle, let's see if you survive" :tonguey:

I think you're getting too close from being a spoiler, in this game you'll have to work hard before you even have a chance of hitting someone in the WZ (i'm lvl 30 hunter, i've been there once and died for about 5 times in a couple of hours... hunted by fellow enemy hunters!!)

What u need to know is /reset_powers typed in the console near a trainer (resets point distribution), and if it is really important for you go here (http://www.regnumzg.com.ar/index.php?option=com_rzgskills&Itemid=31) and here (http://www.regnumzg.com.ar/index.php?option=com_rzgskillsinfo&Itemid=38).

And... yes, you might as well do some statistics (someone must do it in order to answer your questions), you will have the time and the opportunity for it. Last but not least remember that before you going to war you must train hard, make some brothers in arms, know your character possibilities, know the other characters possibilities by engaging in friendly PvP, join a clan... and have fun!

Why does everyone think i'm concerned about PvP?
Thanks for your links, that's nearly exactly what i was looking for. Except maybe for the curiosity concerning experience and damage types, but that's not at all really important.

Concerning the " /reset_powers " command, does it clear the assigned points, or reset the character and thus make you loose those points?

Well, i think i know all i wanted to know. Thanks Signatus. it really wasn't that much

The reset_powers command just removes all the point you have assigned to skill so you can reassign them. You do not lose any.

For the PvP they are all incorrect the point of the game is RvR (Realm vs. Realm) and after you get to level 30-33 or above you will find your self headed to the War Zone (you can enter the War Zone sooner if you want). While in the War Zone you are fair game to be attacked by the other 2 Realms and you are free to attack them. This is what they are talking about.

Signatus, did you realize i was actually thanking you. If you are the one behind the site i even have to thank you twice, but i didn't know this.

I'm sorry if you misunderstood me. When i told it wasn't that much, i was answering to those who thought i wanted to know what's the ultimate weapon of death, how to get to level 50 in 2 hours and probably how to solve every quest in less then 30 minutes. I wanted to say i was just asking for informations that are normally found in any game's manual, and nothing more. No spoilers especially.

Sorry if i hurted you.

I wanted to answer by private message to avoid adding off-topic discussion but they seem to be disable.

What I'm looking for is a list and explanation of all the basic commands you can use in-game. For example, I was at a complete loss when I wanted to send a PM to a player without using that PM emote thingy.

If such a list/manual already exists somewhere obvious I apologise for not noticing it although I wuold appreciate it if you guys can point it out to me.

Much thanks in advance.

There is such a list in the very helpful website Signatus gave some posts above.

Ah, exactly what I was looking for. Didn't notice that at first, I apologise :tonguey:

Thanks!
