Since NGD is too stupid to address it's customers I will
Or maybe I am just too stupid to find it
Hello, I know other people besides myself are missing gear since this recent update/path of 8k KB
The reason this is, or so I heard from a very reliable source, is that people on the German servers, and possibly other servers, were duping xim. So NGD decided to delete all gear from people that bought over a certain amount of xim. Nice job NGD :facepalm3:
Anyway thats it
Have fun with the info ^^

Come on NGD...
You leave your game in ruins with each update, rushing them out and losing many players from the amount of bugs and other issues that remain unsolved when everything goes live (and is then not even fixed for years). There is no balance, Warmasters are OP, you've made the GUI bloated and hard to use for veteran players, you rolled out the wrong event on Horus, people still log in with "purple fever" icon in top right corner and half of their health missing, and now you are worried about items?
You are harming your own game, and all you can do is stop to remove items and ban players for "exploits" that your own bugs create, like the current controversy surrounding GameSamba banning people for "three socket magna weapons" and usage of "1% CS gems". Its starting to become laugh-worthy.
Please don't get me wrong, I know you guys have alot to deal with. But it is becoming very hard for your customers to trust you guys. I've been saying it for years; Please, hire a professional quality assurance and testing team. Because as it stands, legitimate customers cannot trust that even what they spend Xim on will not get screwed up, or that their support tickets will even get answered if there is an issue. Its getting really hard to care about the future of this game.
"Freemium" games simply require a more secure and reliable model than Regnum Online is delivered with.

I call bullshit. No one can be stupid enough to do that.
If they were duping a virtual currency bought with real money don't you think they would plain outright ban them altogether? Nah, I guess your version seems legit too, it makes more sense to paw through the inventories of every player like a starving raccoon and single-handedly delete their items, because let's face it, that'll teach them. Speculations and jumping to conclusions general.
Seriously, going by this logic magnanite has more value then ximerin since they were BANNING people for duping it. Not to mention the said people could just dupe ximerin again amirite? Try to think before you type things.
It's probably related to the removal of arrows; other items were [accidentally] included as well.
NGD, you're making WRONG premium content. Lucky Boxes, Gem Boxes is one of the main factors that forces players to use "exploits". Damn you NGD, sell such Premium Items that will NOT affect player's stats. Make that shiny mounts, exp boosts or even listen up for the players offers about Premium content (we had a lot of awesome ideas that will not affect gameplay at all), but NOT item gaining. If you think that gear doesn't matter, go kill yourself...
I'll just place it here, maybe you'll think about Premium content, anyway... it's too late....:
Regnum Online is a free game, but NGD relies on an income gained through player purchases of Premium Content. Such content is not intended to affect PvP or war, but includes items for convenience or aesthetic enhancements (though Lucky boxes and Engrave Socket help to get better items).

It seems legit as NGD fixed some kind of Ximerin bug at login from change character, though I don't know what it was.
Test the fix yourself by spending some Ximerin on Amun: It will no longer come back unless you completely close client, which was not the case before. Maybe this somehow slipped into the live servers as part of the buggy update? I mean, if they ran purple fever on Horus, who knows what else went wrong.
I could be mistaken, but I see no other reason they would change existing, working code that hasn't been touched in five years.

This is just beating a dead horse sadly... with premium-only armor enhancements and now the new "Item mall" button, NGD has made everything clear. An item mall has only one purpose in a game, and Item mall games have only one reputation. Surely they knew about this before adding it to the user interface.

Wrong... Insults never help, specially when dealing with a wasted developer who's fixing the fuckup on a free day.
But what do I know. I'm just a geek, with no knowledge about human relations (?)

Lack of communication with users and indifference to feedback is the main reason why users become bitter or even hateful towards the developers.
Deleting those items without contacting their owners first was by no means the first time this happened, it wasn't even an exception to your usual mode of operation.
Examples:
Warmasters Expansion: Many issues foreseen by users, for example negative effect of offensive wm banner on combat depth, magnanite weapons (the acquisition of which consumed so much effort) losing most of their value over night.
Reaction: None, except for some very slight changes on spell effects. Tons of old users leave.
Patches: Users are hardly ever informed about about exact date or duration of server downtimes.
GUI: Users by-and-large praise new design/the effort which went into creating it. Some of the new features are widely perceived as unnecessary/deterioration of current ones though. Massive framerate drops, even on high-end systems; new bugs like fall dmg.
Reaction: Feedback largely ignored. The patch is installed on schedule, with unchanged problems; features partially incomplete (no scrolling in log, map zoomed in upon opening, selection cursor dislocated,[..]).
Hunter nerf: Most hunters aren't interested in partaking in RvR anyways, right? Or if they do, they can just switch to alts for that purpose (nobody will mind beginning from 0 again after grinding to 60 and becoming WM on now-nerfed main. For sure.).
Realm imbalance: Been to Horus lately? Maybe spend some time watching how things are working out in game, every now and then; instead of just relying on statistics.
Please don't always assume that your concepts will turn out fine in the end, no matter what the users may think about them. Don't introduce innovations as long as they are bugged or badly regarded by many users. Take feedback seriously instead of just blindly pushing through with everything.
It unfortunate really. NGD seemed to push too hard on too razor edge a deadline to get this one out. I suspect they wanted to give it as a gift to users but maybe they forced it a bit.
A lot of players judged NGD rather harshly for the gaffes which is too bad really. However, it is clear that frustration is boiling over and forgiveness and goodwill is running very short on the part of long time players towards NGD. I think they can be justified in some of their frustrations as some of the issues are quite longstanding and remain festering and unaddressed. This situation is just another example of the disconnect that is a recurring decimal between NGD and its community. NGD's company culture and the community on this part of the forum have never found synergy. It remains a somewhat disjointed communication pathway.
I think the whole NGD team meant well but this one could have probably stayed in beta until next year, polished then sent out to production servers. It is not like they did not deliver a lot of stuff for the year already.
My only judgement on NGD that continually disappoints me is that they do tend to push updates out a little too early , making very good work look force ripened and premature. You deploy one hundred things right and 4 things wrong, guess what everyone will remember forever? That is why polish is so critical.
Anyway, hopefully the team will learn from it and not try force green updates out in the coming year. Pushing already tired developers to deploy green code under pressure deadline so close to a long holiday may not do the game any favours. The game desperately needs an update that players can say "aah yes this is polished and they took community on board."
That is the best customer relation possible.
Any way Merry Christmas to NGD and hopefully a restful holiday season so minds and bodies can come back with fresh resolve.
Regards
Artec

Yeah, bitching 2 days before Christmas is just the right way to go about it. /facepalm.
Ps: Surak, please allow modifying scripts.ngz :P I'd love to manually "fix" the GUI for me.
Why does it disconnect me all the time when scripts.ngz is modified, aww. :( You used to be able to do so much nice stuff (http://regnumonlinegame.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42195). Okay, picture is down and I don't have one of my own creations, but it was nice. :D
Oh and have a nice Christmas, of course! :)

Hehehe i think is related to md5sum verification between server and client, but is a fair think somehow, and stops people to cheat.I had a try even with icns icon on mac that is anoy me ,but resources was redownloadet and replaced.
I don't understand why people complaint so much around, lots of people request tons of features and after complaint because they are not integrated.
Ah well easy to say ,hard to make, thinks as resizeble windows and others it is not always easy to change. They begin to write a code ,that is integrated with others parts of code and maybe some features as resizeble windows need other kind of code and needs to write from begin parts of code(just i suppose).
Lets give a little more time maybe?, lots of them will be fixed in next hotfix.
Anyway ,Merry Christmas Ngd :D

Yes of course it gets replaced by the launcher. But you can bypass the launcher! That way it was possible to modify the GUI some months/years ago, see the thread I linked. Now I get disconnected and don't know what to do about it. :(
Oh and about resizable and movable windows. It was possible to modify the old pet par to be movable and such stuff, NGD just didn't turn the flag on true. Anyone remembering the problem when the pet bar was behind the chat and hence unusable on 800x600? Well, all it would've taken to fix that would have been to change that single line. :P And yes I KNOW that, because I did modify some stuff. Just change false to true, done.
And I begin to suspect it would be similarly easy this time around... CombatLog.xml:
<window id="window" class="transparent_window" size="expand" minimize="false" maximize="false" close="false" dockable="false" resizing="false" dragging="false">
I could be wrong though, can't test. :)
Anyway, please please please please let us modify the GUI. Just allow us to modify the XMLs. That would be awesome and stop nearly all complaints about the new GUI.

Hard labor?
Why don't you go out and get a job instead of sitting on your sweaty ass in your mom's basement complaining about virtual items. Or better yet, work as a game developer and you'll learn what hard labor is you ungrateful fat fuck. It's really sad sometimes looking at where the community went in this game and what kind of brick headed children we're left with now.
