"It has been set for fixing in our bug fixing period, which will include solving some other issues as well." --Frosk (from this post (http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/forum/showpost.php?p=1497505&postcount=16)).

NGD, are you finally working on bugs and relaxing on new features ? If yes, this is great news.

RO really need a bug fix only release and recently introduced features need to be stabilized, especially after last Christmas mayhem.
Please, only bug fixes for few updates and you will please a lot of players.
We posted almost all bugs we found in various threads, some are very old now, if you need us to list, test, validate fixes, etc, i guess many will be happy to do so.

Just curious about how long can be your "bug fixing period" xD

inb4hypocriticalsheep praise NGD when actually, they've been deserving that praise for quite a long time now, which on the other hand, doesn't necessarily mean I've been doing so myself.

Feel free to do so :)

If you're asking for a list of every known bug with the intention of reading every single one, I suggest you grab something strong to drink; you're in for a long night.

I think a good starting point is the bug list made recently in this thread (http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/forum/showthread.php?t=83596), almost all are yet unfixed.

It would be great if NGD had a public (or restricted to forum users) bug tracker (for a list (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_issue-tracking_systems)).

It is a old suggestion...but wtv.It was one build in(what never worked)..it is there anymore?
But if think will never be a bug tracker ,just because a bug tracker in a game shows that the game have bugs.So they image can be harmed.
I think bugs report system works only via tickets system(?)

I disagree, every piece of software has bugs, opening a bug tracker helps a lot to reduce the number of bugs, and is a proof of the work is done, so instead i think it improves the company's image, and quality of the relation with his customers.
Hiding issues don't help to solve them, and players want the issues solved.

RO has some serious bugs unfixed since years, it would be better if we knew why they aren't fixed, devs (and company behind) are free to say they will not fix a bug, if they have good reasons for, and i think everyone is able to understand that.

Also, reporting bugs take time, and if players feel bug reports are just ignored, at some point, they cease to report them, causing more players to leave.

I'm very confident in NGD to organize better to satisfy us, because we, the players, are those who pay them.

Open source software expose issues to all, and afaik, it didn't prevent OSS to increase its market share.

Now, it has to be clear that RO is a very fun and good game in my opinion, even with current unfixed issues. Increased bug fix rate will just make it even better (together with better graphics, gameplay, etc...).

It is up to NGD to choose tools they want to use or not, but as a senior dev, i think, every piece of code need a related bug tracker between devs and users, this is almost mandatory. Making it open is essential to reduce duplicate reports and to centralize information about issues.

Here (http://regnumonline.com.ar/forum/showthread.php?t=83596) is one proper list Frosk ( and other mods/admins )
Note that this list might be incomplete or some buggs is already known to NGD.
And some might already been fixed.

Good evening,

you may be interested in the fact that gamigo (Publisher of German servers) recently closed/deleted the bug list threads theirselves and now want their community to report every f'cking single bug to a GM (that makes 5000 Bugs x 10 reports per bug = ..ahmm..)

Please go and wash their heads >.<

The German community would be glad to help you finding all bugs, I know :)

Greez.

Thats a very good idea with a bugtracker, if ngd doesnt care - itdat least help the users to track them and compile a list etc.

However one thing, that bugtracker seems a little bit simple from the first glance.

Im not sure how much work itis to set it up, but it might be worth to check this bugtracking: http://flyspray.org/

Example in action: http://www.hydlaaplaza.com/flyspray/

Tanks for idea.I will take a look at him.

Initial idea was to colect data and make a data base.

I was thinking at Bugzzila.
-Buggs report will be avaible only by introduce capcha.
-other domain(dedicated one)
-list will be public and other features.

I will sync database from this one to new one.

Mantis simple ? First time i hear that, instead i would think it is overcomplicated ;)

Well, Mantis is full-featured, well maintained, widely-used, and very configurable, on the other hand, Flyspray didn't get new release since a long time now (01 May 2009 - Flyspray 0.9.9.6), is advertized as uncomplicated, web-based bug tracking system, and seems to be more than enough for what we want to do.

I think the best bug tracker would be the one NGD choose, maintain and use ;)

Hm yeah i just see i missed a whole section there. Nvm then, its not as clearly arranged as in flyspray but all needed functionality is aviable.

Edit: Kinda miss one bold title to easily see what the bug is about.
Edit2: Nvm more a problem of how users format their summary.

I have nothing against a bug tracker for RO, but if I have to register just to see the details about a bug, it's a no go for me. (and I don't think NGD would do neither)
It should be public access, with no registration or only to submit bugs.

And bug IDs limited to 7 digits only ?? That will never be enough !!

EDIT: And a pic of a beetle or wasp would have been more appropriate :P

Dont worry :D,new bugzilla system allrady has public acces, modifie and update.(without login :D )
Public acces can't delete bugs.
Just i was searching for a domain.
I knowit from begin ,login acces it is annoyng for everyone. So that why passed to bugzilla.
Also bugs can be submitet using Bazaar from desktop(what is avaible for Linux,Windows and Mac OS X.

Frosk you can get list of bugs from here too:

Regnum Bug Compilation 2011 (http://www.regnumonlinegame.com/forum/showthread.php?t=75726)

It is pretty big thread containing most of bugs and annoyments players runned into. Some are maybe fixed. Still list is worth checking.

Every bug is important. There is no more or less. Some of old geezers have poisoned the game for years.

No need to turn this thread into an argument, but I will just say that those players are also who has supported the game the longest.

I don't like logging in everyday and seeing bugs that I also seen when I first logged in at 2007.
