Hi everyone!

As you may already know, Amun is now available to test the upcoming version.

In this thread you'll find a preliminary changelog (which means it does not contain all of the changes coming up) and you will also have the opportunity to report any errors found in this new version by posting here.

Content:


New: Orcs have been redesigned and revamped.
New: Bears have been redesigned and revamped.
New: Terrain textures have been revamped.


Gameplay - Interface:


Modified: The character HUD has been changed. The new design allows for an easier viewing of the player's health & mana.
Modified: The enemy/selected item HUD has been modified. Now it shows the targets realm.
New: The character screen has been redesigned and is now independent from the Inventory.
New: The quest objectives are now shown in the mini-map.


Gameplay - Collisions:


Fixed: Realm Walls are no longer climbable from within by moving towards certain borders.


Premium:


New: Gender Change Scroll - Allows a character to change gender.
New: Race Change Scroll -Allows a character to change its race to another race of the same realm.



Client:


Fixed: Disconnections that happened when the player had a "Reach X" type of quest active.
Fixed: Falling damage should now work as intended.
Fixed: Damaged armor icons are no longer imposed over active powers.
Fixed: Map generation has been optimized for performance.




Please keep in mind that any post not related will be deleted.

Another strange thing Ive noticed is that for some people the Lost Souls Island is not shown in the map.

I logged in with a customized resolution(800x480), that's why the new character sheet was out of the screen. Usually by switching resolution it fixes for all the other windows, but just like the combat log, it did not return to its place.

Nice ground textures, and the new Orcs look great. Bears look nice although I somehow expected them to be a bit more bad-ass looking.

Ignis area close to pb got a new orc camp type settlement. Looks nice and spruces up the normally bland area. (x3620 - z3282)

Falling damage seems to work properly, I got no forced dismounts and I take damage on terrain pretty much as when it worked. Forts seem fine.

Character HUD looks good. Not much space to add more ( like spell focus and resistance) but a step in the right direction I suppose.
The arrow thing is nice for those with quests but somehow I wish I could switch it off when I switch off the 'show active quests' option. It is a bit distracting in war. Never the less, an improvement.

As for the rest I wait with much interest. There is that island that shows up on the map, and the strange numbers that show up next to my experience. 12,157,895 you say? Veery interesting.

Lost Souls island ? Hmm , how you get that info so quickly Daar ?

A click at the button "War Zone" at the World map doesnīt fit the war zone complete.
I canīt see Imperia and Eferias castle. I must resize the map every time i opened it. Plz fix this!

Some guys from the German Servers said that they suffered fall down damage while walking on a straight plain field on Amun today (this bug not fixed yet).

Grass texture doesn't look good from distance and snow texture is too shiny (to much bloom effect!).

Change isn't that obvious, health/mana bars are just a bit longer, but that's ok for me.
I think level indicator should have be placed on top left instead of bottom right.

Quest objective indicator on minimap is the red triangle isn't it ?
Why not use the question mark instead (like in the main map) ?
Also please make an option to hide it.

Both are very expensive, i think gender change scroll should be less expensive since it is only a cosmetic change (no impact on attributes).

Client:

No issue detected.

Other remarks:

Infos about current buffs/debuffs don't appear (already reported after last UI major update), this is a serious gameplay issue.

Buffs/debuffs icons position cannot be changed yet.

Most bugs are still there.

Animated Character faces still are cropped or don't fit within the boundaries of the avatar space. ( at least for females, as they shift their weight from one foot, to the other, which in turn zooms in and out on the character face, and local lighting on the avatar face affects it as well (as it is an overlay?) but not your actual characters' face as they weren't in the lighted/shadowed areas themselves. Maybe off topic slightly, but easier to read, I don't see any difference to be honest, so I commented on a still unfixed and not so aesthetically pleasing (constant on screen) garbled avatar of yourself or an ally/enemy you select.

I used instead prtsc and paste to paint, or I simply would get a black screen with the save option that popped up in game, if at all. However the shifting movement still causes either cropped faces or in large masks, a mess.

The new bar vs the old one doesn't really (IMO) make my HP/MP any easier to read, the area of most concern still is the avatar area, the bars were fine, though the new placement of the level of character is a nice change, as well as the realm indicator.

My other issue is with the separation of the inventory and equipment panels. previously, to remove any gear I wished, I could simply drag it back to the tab I wanted, without the extra screen space being taken up by a whole new panel now.

I 'could' simply drag it from the equipment panel without even opening the inventory panel to any area outside the panel and releasing (the way you would trash items) but this does NOT remember what tab the item was originally in, it moves it simply to the first tab, losing your arrangement of each item specifically, if you are like me and organize a bit too overzealous.

So I now have to open 2 panels to do what I did with 1 panel? Am I missing something here?
If anyone has a more efficient means or something I overlooked, please let me know, appreciated.

Why does opening the Horse panel close other panels except the inventory panel? Just curious,

Perhaps consider adding the new items in players' inventory on Amun, as not all of us buy xim or have enough xim to buy them to provide any useful feedback..

Well, good work overall, but I don't see why you now have to waste 1/2 or 3/4 of your screen to be able to change your equip.

I don't know if it's because of Amun but clan administration is heavily bugged. The member list just doesn't work at all, I hope it's only on Amun...

Also, no word about this island?

Edit: Save guards got boosted it seems ?

I'd just like to add a small detail: i miss the percentage indicator at mouse over the xp in the char info.

Just wanted to ask if you the code calling glDrawRangeElements was reviewed, as the function is called with invalid start/end arguments and causes glitches in opengl drivers checking those: http://www.regnumonlinegame.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86004
I can't test it as I have patched my driver not to check them, but well ... better fix that as it is kinda severe bug which can lead to crashes and it does lead to crashes on Windows with nvidia drivers when game is run in opengl mode.

Found a critical bug linked to item durability. Relogging with an almost broken item makes certain items in the inventory disappear, power book becomes empty(Can't even cast spells) and the equipped gear is also gone.

I almost broke a level 3 Fur Breastplate to test if the damaged item's icon would override active buffs. Nothing happened so I relogged and still saw no icon, then I noticed I was missing a lot of other stuff.

i tested the change_race scroll

1) it doesn't allow you to change name
2) if you change 2 time race, the boosted stats (i had +const from vanguard and +str from spears/hammers/WM) are boosted several times. relogging fixes the problem
3) costs really too much :ohill:

there will be hardly any fort wars anymore, if all players are in different instances... :ohill: (talking of Niflheim/Horus/..)

this is quite sad because there are already only few (due rather to the community then to NGD, old central safe simply rocks <5)

If Regnum Online gets instances, please merge Horus with Raven and merge Niflheim with Muspell..

Plz make the Charsheet resizeable.
I wouldnīt see my Char everytime, but i would see the stats. So you can make an arrow to click, so the char isnīt displayed and only the stats are visible.

What about lowering the price down to 10-12k ximering without allowing name change and premium hair/beard/colors?
This way you could add a second scroll of 18-20k xim that allows you to pick a non_compatible race of your realm or a compatible race of another realm.
For example with a "basic" scroll you could change your ignis conjurer race from dark elf to esquelio while with an "advanced" scroll you could change from dark elf to esquelio, molok, uthgar, alturian (not darf) and so on...
Maybe even a third 30k xim scroll that allow you to pick even a forbidden race from another realm (like an ignis molok hunter that could become an uthgar)

We've yet the possibility to have premium hair or a new name for our character. I think we should be able to get the "basic" premium item to change only our race/sex with a lower amount of ximering, maybe adding an "all inclusive packet" like premium hair/color/beard/name/race/sex with some kind of discount (maybe everithing together could cost something like 35k xime...with some kind of "all inclusive packet" you could save 5-7k xime and getting it for 28-30k), but please allow us to get only what we want and not an extra service not needed/asked

Yep, we're aware of the issue regarding haircuts and hair colours (and even the fact that the char becomes bald).

It has been reported in previous threads and tickets, but it could really help if any of you can add some sort of "how-to", because as far as we go, I've only received as info the fact that happens after "an hour of gameplay or so".

But on the other hand comparing the reports from different users that have played more than 1 hour, the problem seems to vary. This way, the "gameplay time" theory loses strength.

Therefore, I can't reproduce it whenever I want to.

just a question/tip:have you NGD considered to put under enemy hp bar the enemy active buff too?would be nice.what abuot put also the time remaining of active buffs?

I logged on Amun and there are some resources constantly being downloaded.

Game shows a speeds around 3MB/s. Is it not better after several attempts to download a broken resource to mark it as unavailable and stop trying. Right now you flood your severs with requests and even worse it is distributed flood.

Mark resource try on next login again or try again single time after let's say after hour. ;)

Hi , I have been having a strange issue with the race change scroll. When i applied the scroll to Esquelio from Molok the HP went up. No problem.
However if I continue to keep using the race change scroll the HP just keeps going up

After several scrolls I got the tally you see in the pic above. Yes it says 8391 HP with 242 CONST and 151 STR while having necro. I thought this was just visual so I went and checked the tally against the damage tally of a leader mob. Sure enough it took 8410 damage to eventually kill me and the HP bar went down as normal.

My Knock resist was up . I tested with 4 knock spell mobs and I resisted every attempt but 1. When I die this does not fix my HP and other stats to the correct amount. However, a relog does.

I tested my attack as well. I took off all gear except the Warmaster shield and a spear. The damage went up from 408 all the way to 504 as I kept applying race change scrolls. I used no buffs at all. Normal hits only.

Please check. I am able to replicate it by just applying race change scroll after race change scroll. It seem not to matter what race I pick.

I went to amun and tested that. Now it is better but it's still possible to get gem out without breaking gate. Check again the video i sent you.
When fixing thigs its better to fix them well and not let half fixed :S

The client hangs in a loop while downloading 17 resources. Resource list or these resources seems to be outdated or corrupted.

I think the resource file check against a hash failed on those resources. They all starts with the digits 745 and (I suppose) 75.

Still not fixed, 1% cs staff >= 6% cs + hp bonus staff

I must admit I don't see any difference between my 3%CS and 5%CS paulds. I was fighting against Ludovik, he had 5% and I had 3%, I still could cast faster. The problem is Ludo had higher ping, and this probably has nothing to do with %CS but ping.

The difference was ~10 ping if I'm right.

Noone proved its existance yet.

Well id first check the duration of the cast bar on a long cast (i.e. def tele) with fraps recording on 60fps, then counting frames btween 2cs vs 1cs from gem. If that doesnt show a distinctable shorter casttime clientside for the 1cs gem id consider the rumour prooven wrong.

Comparing casttimes invovling anything with ping in between wont work out so id not even bother with it.

The only other thing I did before getting this problem is that I used a gender change scroll. I tested 1 of these scrolls then I used another gender change scroll to go back to male. After that I used the race change scroll. I then decided to change back to my original race which was molok. That is when I noticed the problem.
I ran out of Xim so I can't push it to the extreme but I feel I can easilly get ridiculous numbers. Tested to see if it is only visual again. The cyclops did have to do over 7823 to kill me. I don't know what else to say. I can do it at will. I don't have video production capability or else I would record it.

Will try to test more and see if I can dial in on the trigger for the bug.

Since only Constitution and Strength are increased on your Knight, i guess this bug is caused by passive spells that increase attributes. Try reset_powers, then change race to see if that's really the problem.

Well done. That seems to be the problem exactly. If I reset powers and don't skill any passives the attributes adjust properly.

If I use a race change scroll with the passives skilled, it multiplies those effects and keeps adding CONST and STR.

I did another reset_powers and just put on CONST+ gear. The same scaling out happens on that stat.. I had no skills passive or otherwise set at all for this test. Only bonus armour pieces.

Testing this theory, I should be able to do the same if I use my dexterity passive. Sure enough:

So yes there seems to be a problem with the race change scroll, and its interaction the passives (that influence primary attributes) and any armour that modifies attributes like STR, CONST, DEX and I suspect INT and CONC too. At least for me.

I will keep checking.

Is it possible to bind to CS while central fort taken yet? Tis really really annoying especialy when wanna go help to capture a fort after being invaded when you are saved at the gate and can't bind to CS afterwards. Having to walk 10mins to every fort to fight 1 minute and then repeat, funny gameplay.

I tested this casting teleports at two occasions already, from what i see CS works as it should.
I had no significant gain using just 1% cs either, so unless there is something more to it it dosent do shit or it is something that already was fixed.

i tested the change_race scroll

1) it doesn't allow you to change name
2) if you change 2 time race, the boosted stats (i had +const from vanguard and +str from spears/hammers/WM) are boosted several times. relogging fixes the problem
3) costs really too much :ohill:

the race_change_scroll don't allow you to change name even if it's written in the description of the scroll. is it to be fixed or is it intented?

PS the daen spear still looses his unique colore once fused (i cannot test anymore...i have only one of them XD)

^That, same with other Wz-Boss stuff :) probably you loose eve rings colour as well hard to test though :D

i tested it only with daen spear (and some months ago with daen staff) and reported some time ago, but nobody fixed it.
hope it's time to fix it now that frosk has seen the issue :clapclap:

About 1% cs gem in staff vs 6% cs gem in staff captured video by fraps 25 fps analyse ( in Frames numbers since we get info about starting casting and when it disapear):

Energy barrier cast without Arcane Devotion 5:
1% cs : 69-20 = 49 frames (aprox 2 seconds)
6% cs : 85-61 = 24 frames (aprox 1 second)

Energy barrier cast with Arcane Devotion 5:
1% cs : 183-159 = 24 frames (aprox 1 second)
6% cs : 219-195 = 24 frames (lol ?)

Mana pyllon cast time with Arcane Devotion 5:
1% cs : 94-65 = 29 frames (more than 1 second)
6% cs : 119-90 = 29 frames (lol? again)

Results you see, without Arcane Devotion there are differences in it, but with it both 1% cs staff and 6% cs 'works' the same.

Strange.

I read frames in Visual Dub program. I can't 'glue' two videos to make one comparing these tests...

thats very interesting, do you plan on doing any tests with say a typical 14% staff most players tend to use?

I went back to using a singular 6 cs gem +100% devotion, not ready to slap in a 1% gem, but I wanted to give my cs staff to a friend as a gift for a grad, well minus the cs gem, though it still has a socket :wish: so far I don't really notice any difference from having double that amount previously. I suppose I could socket a 1% and see for myself before I give it away.

As for testing boss weap fusions..lol I just go to Amun, and ask a nicely equipped Hola to borrow or see his gear occasionally ;)

Did you test on live server or amun? It seems changes have been made on amun to 'fix' cast speed calculation, as stated in changelog for next update GameSamba gave us: http://www.gamesamba.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=97&t=4468&p=28106#p28106 (Fixed: Rounding error in "Casting Speed", most noticeable in +1% Cast Speed gems.)

Tested ensnare arrow and it feels much slower with +4% cast speed gem than before.

Actually,a mage with a 6% staff only cast faster than me?

This was the first thing I noticed that I thought was needed to change. I thought it was so obvious that I wouldn't even need to point it out. But I guess I was wrong...


Also, why isn't the first opened window on the right? Why does the inventory window switch position from the right to the left, can't it stay where it is and the new window appear on the left? It always confuses me because no other already opened window is forced to switch position because of an other.

lolz thats exactly what somebody else recently tested.
I can confirm everything.

Have a look at the casting time (i.e. of mana pylon) with Arcane Devotion 5 and 0% cs.
You will be surprised :D (about 0,25 seconds delay.. no matter about the casting time of the spell I think...)

But maybe this will be fixed now?
