I started playing this game on this server because of the English language. but this is my personal opinion.

I don't mind, as long as more than 2 third speak English in realm chat it is ok. But I'm pretty indifferent to this, so I don't vote. Fortunately there is still the /ignore command.

dude. my native lang Russian. statistics its only statistics. spanish have ra. what english speking users have to do? and chat sharing, I do not have filter of languages

I couldn't care less what language people choose to type in. It takes almost no effort to ignore it. I'd rather have people chatting in a random language I cannot understand rather than a dead chat. It never hurts to have a bit more diversity anyway.

My entire life I have been subject to people speaking to each other in a language I don't understand. As long as when I am addressed I know what is being said, why should I have a problem?

Horus now Haven got a HUGE boost in population and you want to divide that because of 20% speak poorly English or not at all.
You are trying to kill the server like that.

Lol seems like I'm almost the only one with this opinion. I think it's bullcrap people talk in different languages in the Realmchat. Every other chat I wouldn't care less about but realmchat? Little comparison here, I've been told numerous times to talk Dutch when I was talking Arabic in public, nowadays I try to talk in a Language everyone understands, even when I'm with 3 Dutch friends and lets say 1 Portuguese friend on Skype, You'll never hear me talk Dutch just because I think he would feel outclosured and I know I wouldn't like it either. People got annoyed by the fact they could not understand it, thinking it was about them, thinking it might interest them, thinking I was a terrorist? Probably not. Anyway, I don't think it's very nice to publicly talk in a language other people understand.

But by seeing all the reactions above me, there aren't many people here who would agree with me xD.

There is not a rule where is wrote English ,if look at splash screen it's say:Haven is a international server ,you might see people speaking diferent leanguages"
..and somehow is correct,i see no issue whe 2 people talk in they own english because they speack better they leanguage than english?

But wait this is something totally different, we're talking about socializing in Realm Chat if any other language than English should be allowed. Someone who can't understand, or can't talk English can of course ask people in Realm Chat for help.. Yes, but here's where people get indifferent opinions, will he be allowed to talk (let's say for example) Spanish in Realm chat or should he just chat the person who can help him so they can talk in a party or private chat?
I don't see why it's hard to just chat someone or party someone in private to talk with eachother in your own language, who gives a f***?
Then again, that's my opinion, that's what I do.

I dont really see any problem with 2 ppl chating with eachother in their native
tounge. It is an international server, the "official" language is aimed at english
speaking ppl but thats is just a recomendation since there are allready
servers with majority off spanish, german etc

If it bothers you that much why not trying to ask them nicely if they could
perhaps open a private chat instead off using capital letters demanding them
to stop? A please in a normal tone usually gets better response then the
yelling capital letters.

As far as i know, Horus was always international english , meaning, all languages welcome, but mostly english spoken...

In our clan we have polish, dutch, german, philipino, english, scottish (aye its a bit different from english :P ) italian, swedish, turkish.....a few more too (Arty, in fear of insulting you, I am not going to attempt yours xD ), and I would never take offence to them speaking their own language or ask them stop, when push comes to shove we all communicate in english, as does 95% of the realm...

So, if almost everyone speaks in English, I don't see the problem here? You don't like it or feel its spam...then use good old /ignore :)

I see no problem to see someone to chat with someone else on his native language. I do it too with other bulgarians and eastern europeans. I like to learn some foreign words and ask others what they mean. It is fun.

If it comes to war and anyone needs to say something to others everyone uses english.

As with merge with Raven realm chat is restricted to english only. People are fine with this. I see no reason GM's to turn to some kind of police and sniff general chat IF someone uses some different language...it sounds absurd to me... :bangin:

If they didn't talk to me: I don't care
If they did: I try to catch a word or too. If not, I reply."Sorry I can't understand what you are saying.". After a bit I leave the chat.

Because this is an International server, this rule should be only strongly enforced in such a case as an individual uses their native tongue in a trolling, abusive or insulting way. Other than that, they should be gently guided to either a private chat, a clan where they have peers that speak similar tongue or similarly to the general chat. This is of course for purposes of communicating in their native tongue if not English.

In my opinion, private chat, party chat, clan chat, general chat are all zones where players are free to speak their native tongue. In my opinion the game allows this.
However, good deportment (manners) and good form should dictate the flow of any conversation. If war was going on and communication is necessary in general chat for example, it would be bad manners to communicate in native tongues if you are able to speak English.

Likewise, if someone wants to be included in a conversation in clan chat, good manners dictate that they should be responded to in a language they understand. If players want to discuss something sensitive, using another language as a mask is akin to whispering secrets to each other in public, which is of course poor manners and bad form.

If communication doctrines that govern good form and deportment that apply to the real world are applied here, we should have minimal problems.

Almost everyone speaks english in the realm chats, because it is polite to do so
there are a few exceptions, the trolls and the kids that can hardly speak english.

And to some ppl its hard to response in english when they are reading their native language
I know I had that problem untill some1 pointed it out to me.

Yes it should be nice if every1 could understand whats being said in the realm chat.
Those kids cant, when they need help with throgg/hellu/pendys how else to ask

As for the trolls, nt to do about them. If you try to make GC/SGMs do something
