Props to old friends with advices (Lupe + Hepha with BSR/Fraps), but is there any other good, and free screen recorders that work with great graphics and easy on the lag-in-game.

I use ffmpeg, its the smoothest and most reliable out of all of them. But you have to get dirty with the command line in order to use it (since it has no GUI that I know of), and on top of that, since it grabs an area of the screen you may need some knowledge in video editing to crop out the game area.
One of my old videos (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ON4znEVHw0c&feature=plcp) demonstrating the results in 720P HD, SM 4.0 and it causes minimal lag.

well i appreciate it man, but i don't really have a clue with computers beyond the basics. But do keep me posted on others if you do manage to have alternatives. Always good to hear from you! :)

Just go with Fraps.
It's fairly cheap and easy to use yet outputs professional level recordings.
Beware however that it will fill up your harddrive alarmingly fast when recording, depending on what settings you choose.

I'm going Fraps too

Just don't expect to do any easy editing of Fraps videos, it uses a custom video codec that doesn't work in all media tools (or is buggy).
If you run into such problems, sites like YouTube allow you to do some degree of online editing.

Or just import the recordings into a video editing program such as Vegas Movie Studio.

Try to find fraps hacks on youtube or google. I use a fraps hack which basicly means I have fraps but don't have to pay for it.

Hi! :) I watched a little of your video. The quality is great, but I was wondering why you cut tiny sections out? Like when a mage is casting something, you cut to where you were behind him? And lots of times mid-fight you cut out tiny parts where you could've sped up or left alone.
It is a little irritating to watch imho, but I just want to know why you do it? :D
Great quality though. :)
Thanks.
EDIT: I forgot to mention: I use Fraps for recording, it does fill up hard drive space, but you can render those clips into a video (montage or clip) and it compresses the file size dramatically for uploading. I edit with Windows movie maker usually, but have recently acquired Sony Vegas Pro 11, which is quite complicated to use, but has great results.

Obviously most RO players are like me on the forums, read the thread topic, read the first 4 words of what someone says, reply. I don't like fraps (caps rage). xD I tried it on 2 of my laptops hoping for different results and both times my RO's FPS went from +100 to under 12, tried changing options for the game, for my computer, no luck. I have tried many alterations of fraps as well. Just want something like Kitsunie's thing, but less... "advanced?" .. Maybe if he could post a video and explain everything, he could teach us all. :D aha

thanks i'll have to give this a try!
Hmmm for windows i don't know any program but for :
Linux- i use GTK record my desktop for Gnome and on KDE-QT record my desktop http://recordmydesktop.sourceforge.net/about.php
MAC OS X:- Screenflow http://www.telestream.net/screen-flow/overview.htm
For windows had a few trys with fraps, but looks sucks for me.
From this programs i can say GTK recordmysdesktop and Screenflow for Snow Leopard are the best.
QT-record my desktop and Screenflow on MAC OS X Lion sucks, slow record, lots of freez etc...

Ahh okay thanks. Well yeah, fraps just seems to do the opposite of BSR for me. BSR = no lag, bad qualities (for me); fraps = lag, good qualities. But with lag = picture quality videos :s
Maybe I should of said what laptops I was using and operating systems. I have 2 Sony's, and a toshiba. But I'm looking for this sony, with windows operating system. I always wanted to try linux, but i'm not quite sure what it is.

Same here ,i think to all too....
On mac went from 150 to 20-30 fps using screenflow good quality and not smooth..
here a example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JWgCXcgSzI
Also on linux is the same think.
I think on your laptop you cant make good quality movies because laptops does not have powerfulll video cards or cpu,and ro is full rendered in VGA.

I actually didn't do any editing besides speeding it up a bit. The game just jumps around like that for alot of players, even on low pings and high FPS.

nice witch setting do you use for ffmpeg?
I use ffmpeg or glc.
Setting for ffmpeg I used earlier:
without audio:
ffmpeg -f x11grab -r 25 -s 1280x720 -i :0.0+328,190 -vcodec libx264 -vpre lossless_ultrafast -threads 4 Desktop/intro.mkvwith audio:
ffmpeg -f alsa -ac 2 -i pulse -f x11grab -r 25 -s 1280x720 -i :0.0+320,166 -acodec pcm_s16le -vcodec libx264 -vpre lossless_ultrafast -threads 0 Desktop/intro.mkvto get window coordinates, type command xwininfo. Also since I play in window mode, I disable RO window frame to get pure in game content only.
GLC:
with audio:
./glc-capture ~/Games/RegnumOnline/rolauncherwithout audio:
./glc-capture --disable-audio ~/Games/RegnumOnline/rolauncherencode:
./glc-play game-8496-0.glc -o - -y 1 | mencoder -demuxer y4m - -nosound -ovc x264 -x264encopts qp=18:pass=1 -o video.mp4Video editing in Kdenlive where I finalize quality and stuff.

It never worked this way for me.
I had to use it this way :
glc-capture ~/Games/RegnumOnline/game <user_login> <md5_hash_of_password>

For windows: MSI Afterburner Beta. It's free, good quality, uses mpeg encoding, and has a lot less impact on performance compared to Fraps.
Be sure to use the beta, as the currently released non-beta doesn't record audio
EDIT: gold version with audio support was recently released. No need for betas to get audio capture anymore.
