Damage/defense?

Okay. Well I've been playing the game blindly as many do, not knowing about the game or the mechanics.. And I've decided its time to learn :D so if someone can post/message me with how to calculate damage and if different damage type stack/reduce (the old bug right after wm update) and defense mechanics. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you all and sorry for reposting another thread of this.
