View Full Version : Push notifications build in ro-client?

Because Windows 8 and Mac OS X Montains Lion will be able to support applications's push notifications,are there plans that ro client to have this features?
I think news and infos about server or updates ,or servers restarts will be by far easy to send to people with new push notifications technology.

P.S at least twitts ..hope next to be in english too,not only spanis,last 3-4 twitts was spanish only.....

Iphone/Android/Windows 7 mobile have this features and people that use one know what means,now OSX and Windows 8 will support push notifications from apps.
I will like to recive news/infos directly to my desktop instead search facebook,twitter and forum for them :D

Ah well i will like to see a app for android/iphone from ngd that sent notifications from,but i think this is not posible for the moment,so i hope in the future ro client to support them. :D

Ubuntu and some other Linux distributions have a notification support, too.
they can be called from dbus (Desktop Notifications Specification 1.1 (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NotifyOSD#Treatment_of_the_Desktop_Notifications_S pecification_1.1)).

i don't see the point in this.

to make notification programe should be started, so notification while i'm playing? hell not.

all OS use diferent API in this so NGD sould support all 3 (or more don't know if kde use diffent notification system than gnome) for what purpose? read news in the launcher?

Why? So we can read changes to the roadmap the moment they happen? Another game I play lets you send SMS messages from chat for about 5 cents, cheap and simple feature and used quite a lot.

1.No need to start the app to get push notifications.
2.All 3 platforms use different launchers even original code is designed crossplatform(maybe have no idea)
3.What for ? lol by far easy to see a gate or a capture of fort ,by far easy to get news and events news or upgrades of game directly to de desktop ,without search daily on 23424323 sites or forum.Usual random post of ngd on facebook or twitter ,even some of them spanish only,Personaly i am not happy with this .

Read and get more infos about push notifications before cry about a feature that i don't see how to harm you.I don't think even this system will ever be implemented,but was just a suggestion.I am very disappointed how people cry a about sample features that neighter understand or harm them.

Personaly i like a good system that keep me informed.

See what you mean, would be nice but you can do the same... oh, no you cant, no f*%*ing stats anymore.... if there where stats then it would be simple to set up a server to do the same job. ATM a german site (maybe others too) parse the stats and generate an image from them, a desktop applet can reload the image every 30 seconds or so. Cant remember the site, deleted the applet when it became bloody useless, but can dig it up if you want, think they also have RSS feeds for stats.

yep notifaction apear magicaly ....
you need an app or a service to do it.

my point is: would make a lot of more work since they need lot of time to correct bug or improve game, this feature need to be useful to use time for it.

for this an API by ndg would be easyier for NGD to do, only one implementation no need to follow 3 different system update, an a little work from comunity to use it (like doing a notification app or log capture time or use it on or site or ....)

since ngd can't use they're own web site for news, what will append if they add another thing?
