Do you guys think the actual class balance in the game is working well?
All class have the same chance of kill his enemy without use a tree or a rock to hide?
Do you feel your class have all the necessary skills to counter your enemy in the proper way to have a nice and fair battle in both 1vs1 and RvR?
Do you feel your class have his relevance in the RvR and in fort battles?
Do you think is necessary a new balance review for all the classes OR for some particoular class OR is not needed a balance review?

Ok,here is some question that often is derailing every thread i see,so i wrote here some question,and make an unique thread,with all the discussions about this stuff.
Ofc,if you have any point to add,feel free to add it,is meanted to be an open discussion,and i hope it should give some input to "someone" if is the case.
With all this question i was not able to make a proper poll.

IMHO the class balance is overall pretty okay. Perfect balance cannot be reached in both PvP and RvR, if classes have different roles and spells.

No, this depends also on the environment (example: in a tower warrior classes can surely kill all other classes, but not in the open field). Also for warriors it's logical to use trees or rocks. IMHO that's fair tactic against ranged classes.

it's a bit overpowered, yes. But on the other hand, I don't care much about super bosses and their drops. Good gear (for example from premium items) is important for PvP, but for RvR it works also without overpowered gear.

No, it could easily be better, both pvp and rvr-wise.

Technically yes, realistically no.

Balance is needed pretty much everywhere the term "balance" applies. (Classes, items, individual powers, population, luck based combat system...)

Top of the list: above new content, new graphics and even above bug fixes.

I would like to see a variety of jewelry as mob drops, yes; not necessarily as strong as boss jewelry but stronger than quest rewards.

No i don't play marks, so i don't pvp them, but RvR yes i do

No, even some rings are worse then rings obtaineble from a quest, rings needs to be buffed...amulets are fine

I think amulets are fine as they are, dragon ammulets are pretty rare and they give a good bonus, but not exeptional.
Rings needs to be better balanced, quest rings are better for non-mages then boss rings

That would be hard to implement, without unbalancing RvR & PvP, but yes i do agree.

Lol no. The balance isn’t even bad, that would require some kind of balance to be there to begin with.
I don’t know any game with such a ridiculous “balance”.

Everyone who has started RO just once in the last few years knows the answer to this one.

I feel no class has nearly enough interesting (!) spells, some are just worse off than others.

Conjus? Well, you can’t really do without healers.

The whole balance, every class, needs serious revisions.

It’s the by far biggest problem RO has in my eyes. It’s what I’d fix ASAP. BIG balance updates (that actually change something, like 1.6.3) EVERY MONTH. Or at least every two months. At the current speed of development there won’t be decent gameplay until 2050.

Yes, mainly because you can’t work hard to get it, it’s just luck. More gear dependence isn’t bad as long as you can get decent stuff yourself. It sucks if you can’t, that creates a “special” group of players. MMOs + gear work because everyone wants to be special and hence plays more, it doesn’t work if, no matter how much you try, you’re stuck with your gear.

Yes, but that actually is pretty hard to do. Some basic jet decent steps could always be done though. (Which NGD obviously doesn’t do)

LOL! You’re right, perfect balance can’t be reached, but RO is nowhere near perfect. It is nowhere near decent or even just acceptable, NGD ignores all basic aspects of balance.

above was just a joke, but IMHO the balance is not very bad and RvR class balance would be decent, if NGD tweaked the hunter and warlock class a bit more. Knight, Barb, Conju, Marksman is all pretty good balanced in RvR IMHO.

No, there are big problems!

No, there are classes which can win only with a tree/rock against an other.

No, my class - warlock - wins against many classes without a problem. But there is a class, which the warlock ever looses without using trees/rocks.

No, because of the WarMaster Flags, my AoEs are less well as before.

To this question ... I think, there are in generel too few items in the game. More (good) items --> more trade. And with more good items, everybody has an alternative to big items, like the boss jewerly.

Oh, I don't think so. Conjurers, Knights and Barbarians have the biggest chance ... Hunters, Warlocks and Marksmen have ... a bad chance.

There is nothing intelligible in this game.
All this questions are pointless somehow,even Chilko claim that RO is diferent compared with others games there is not difference.
How that ?...sample:
-Class have they own role:
*marks =long range nothing inteligible only gears based game
*barbarians=the s=me think....items based cloed range op dmg
*conjurer=a class ...that is there ,have no idea what for....
*Warlock=a random spamer with massive areas that hope to do some random DOTS dmg
*Hunter= a random ganger with ocasionaly invisibility recap fort because noon can track them.
*Knights=a class that resist a lots to dmg...what for? because they will die early or later....
There is nothing diferent in Regnum,there is no class balance because NGD claime that each class have they own role,premium content own the game.
To see Regnum in actual state :
-class balance= no because of class role(?)
-logical state of spells(?)...nope are printed via RNG ...luck based game
-woooh shiny ...cool graphics,less brain,more premium content ....
I am sorry to be so critic with regnum,i understand comercial side of the game....but can wee do it with more logical and less random press of buttons next time ?
If you ask me why dont play the main reason is that premium content and randomness of game own the game.....also premium people make them to say there good ,but the trooth is that they are just marionets of the cash and random system,also to be WM is a real history today.....daily quest become monthly quest and better relams with premium boosters are boosted 5 times faster now.
Nothing different between other games ,only graphics.Probable i will get a permanent ban for my havy criticism...but wtv...is the true and even adicted players will say i am wrong.I was in love with regnum for many years,but the game gave it me a real sick a few months a go when even for a premium or not premium player to rich a featrures of the game as to be WM become a real adventure....have many years from now Regnum...but RIP the real Regnum that is was ,a unique game with unique feature.

Rather than be totally negative I would say it needs work. Constant small steps in a coherent direction. Right now RO is a Frankenstein monster with parts stitched together from varied concepts. 1.6.3 was good in many ways because it employed the community and a good overall product was reached, except for hunters. Ego, arrogance , whatever allowed that successful process to be abandoned and we have what we have now. In the end I can't be sure just how bad balance is because it is clouded by excess power points, WM spells and more basic character stats at max level. Add the fact that there is not much more diversity in spells and there you have it.

I accept it is a valid tactic but why does it have to be almost a compulsory tactic depending on your class? There should be enough spell diversity that allows you to construct a build to operate without using obstacles. RO does not have that spell diversity.

1.6.3 I would say yes. Since then the issue is a bit cloudier.

Balance is and should be a constant undertaking. Constant refinement is always the goal. Once a game is active this should never stop.

What I would like to see is some strong, level capped jewellery and a greater diversity of lesser jewellery that are locked into level brackets. The problem with jewellery these days are that they are good for lower levels but scale out and compound when high levels use them. Likewise some low level jewellery is practically useless but cannot be buffed because high levels would then abuse them . Level capping or bracketing jewellery solves this. You can even class bracket jewellery. I would like to see more diversity and more ways to get jewellery.
The drop system in general is an abomination.

Balance in this game in almost every aspect is terrible. Prior to the warmaster update, the class balance was not so bad, NGD did a nice balance update and then of course, ruined with 20 extra power points for all classes without any thought for the effect that would have on class balance.
It is not just class balance however, NGD need to find more inventive ways of dealing with population balance.

Sadly this isn't the case. I've said this in every other balance discussion thread, but the only way to achieve class balance is to eradicate shared trees. It is impossible to balance a defensive and offensive class when half of their spells are shared, it simply will not happen. With individual trees for each subclass, balancing them out will just mean tweaks here and there. So yes, a complete revamp of the spell trees is needed IMHO in order to achieve class balance.

In my opinion, RvR balance is hard to determine when most RvR battles now involve the use of beacons, rendering most CC's useless. Thus the two classes that benefit most from beacons are the two classes that deal the most damage, barbarians and marksmen.
Marksman have arguably the best defense in the game, their first and most valuable defense being their insane range. Then of course there is Strategic position, acrobatic, evasive tactics, SotW and escapist. As for the damage output of a marx, the scaling of damage is a problem, it's what makes a marksman with boss rings/amulet hit so much harder than the average geared marx. or an offensive class that has the ability to deal crazy DPS, this is a problem.
Barbarians deal insane damage, while having decent defense. Combine this with beacons and DI and the barb is simply unstoppable in RvR.
Hunters have no role in RvR IMO (other than tracking and stalker, both means no credit). Their damage is far too low. Numerous times at forts I don't get kill credit with my hunter despite getting several hits on an opponent simply because my damage isn't high enough. The only time I do decent damage is when a player is unbuffed, and there aren't many people who charge a fort unbuffed.
Support conjurers have a nice role in RvR and is still fun when people aren't whining. I personally wouldn't change a thing about conjurer as I am able to perform with no issues as a support conjurer in RvR even at level 53.
Warlocks are less and less common in RvR mainly due to their terrible defense and terrible cast times. With the cs "fix" the cast times for spells are ridiculous and it has made warlock an even more challenging class to play. With the introduction of beacons, sultar and MoD are pretty much useless. It also sucks that a warlock does the same damage with spells from level 37 onwards, there needs to be some scaling.
Knights, my favourite subclass! I don't think I could make a comment on them without being slightly biased :p. From my own experience of playing knight, I can confirm we have insane defense, if a group of people are not carrying MS, I can tank them for a considerably long time. The only class who does decent damage on me while buffed, is a Barbarian. In terms of knights in RvR they play an important role, I talk of support knights, not knarbs. Auras and well timed areas such as shield wall and stars shield can often save many allies from situations where they would've otherwise died (e.g. a knocked conjurer under shield wall may survive the duration of the knock if protect ally was on cool down). I feel knights are quite balanced in RvR too, I can't speak for knarbs as I don't really play in such a style.
I think it's absolutely necessary to have balance as a top priority, but personally, after bug fixes, because if history taught us anything, we can expect new bugs with any updates. So I personally would place balance 2nd in my list of priorities after bug fixes.
With regards to boss jewelry, they do create in imbalance, most noticably in marksmen. I wouldn't mind seeing more variety in jewelry, maybe jewelry that can be dropped from ordinary mobs.
As for equal drop chance, I highly doubt this is the case. Same people drop quite often and certain classes have a higher drop chance than others. As an example, out of the last 7 visits to a boss with my conjurer I dropped 4 times. I have no idea why this was the case, but it's certainly not luck. What I would rather see is a way of obtaining boss gear available for everyone perhaps by collecting enough of an item that a boss drops and once you have enough you can forge it into a boss weapon at an NPC.

It is a work in progress. Some skills need to be balanced with casting time since the cs nerf for non mage classes. Other than that it's improving.

On the topic of jewellery. I don't see why jewellery cant work the same way as other gears do, as in droppable from any mob with random stats on them (possibly using the same special/magical/epic classifications) with an option of a premium jewellery box. I find it dumb that some classes can benefit from the current jewellery system and others cant.
