We have been getting some mixed feedback about the War Master skills being ok to use in the Tournament this month.


So if we get enough players that vote NO then we will not allow any WM skills or event buffs like chocolates.

This is a poll currently running on GS forums. Since some people from here can't or don't access that forum, I went ahead and copied it here.

Current standings at the time of this post:
Yes: 5 (19%)
No: 22 (81%)

I for one do not wish to see WM powers allowed.

Chocolates? Certainly not.
Beacons? ...Ehhhh, they're a key piece of RvR gameplay, to not allow them in the clan/team games would be an artificial representation of actual cooperative gameplay.
Passive? Sure why not? Doesn't make much of a difference.
Horn of the Wind? Even though it pains me to say it, I suppose it would be unfair generally speaking.

So, partial no and partial yes.

as long as you are not using any cheat engines or hack programs to increase your movement or attack speed.

All aspects of normal gameplay should be allowed.

Then players who has wm powers in a team while the other team doesn,t will create a big imbalance...

Not true.

The players with overpowered gear will win period. Don't talk to me about balance.

So will the team with most blunt skilled barbarians and conjurers have more advantage. If someone forms a shitty group they're bound to lose. In the game's current state, balance should not be used as an argument.

What's next, forbid the use of Mind squasher, Confuse and even pets?

No WM powers will make fights more interesting and balanced for me. As plus will show true skill of players. You want to turn fights to pure hack & slash fest? I want to see mages and knights that have use, conjus that survive more than 10 sec and stuff.

I do not see OP geared players 100% win without wm sh*te. WM powers makes winning even easier.

Whole WM tree have to be restricted. Passive one included.

NO War Master skills allowed & NO Buffs that are not on your normal class skill tree!

Calm down, DMC was always for WM powers (and using ones on oneself)
But rly, who cares. Barbs+conjus+1 marks will win 5v5 with almost 100% chance

well actually, thats barbs+conju+marks, since only 1 class is allowed to have more than 1 :p
and actually, i think the limit then is 2 so the 3rd barb would most likely be a knight xD
(guess what, all the alsius teams i heard are using that group.. i wonder how much fun this is gonna be to watch)

I've seen: can say it will be pretty boring watch of DId barbs under UM killing everything that ain't a knight (unless barb has MS)

My terse view.

Knight v knight : long drawn out battle that will take infinity to end. clash of the HP
Barb v barb : 1 mistake , 3 hits, end.
lock v lock : fastest CS (quickest draw) wins.
conju v conju : clash of the summons and mentalists
marks vs marks : ICBM vs ICBM (inter-continental ballistic missiles)
hunter vs hunter : pet vs pet

All governed by oversight of : gears, RNG, ping and lag.

Groups : This depends on the skill of your conjurer/ conjurers.
Config : Conju, damage, rangers. Win.
Preferred config ;2 barbs (or barb/knarb), one or 2 conjus and a marks. Optionally you can use one conju and a lock. A lock could be quite useful if configured correctly such as in heavy debuffing /buffing and direct damage over heavy cc build.

Hunter ? well ..... possible just for confuse and oversized pet.

I will definitely log on to specatate. Should be entertaining from that perspective.

Single pvp no wm tree at all.
Group events sure use em all.

Stalker is pretty OP in group fights. This was proven in the all tournaments on Raven. Its worthwhile taking a hunter just to have the upper hand at the start of the fight.

Not so effective if stalkered group stands against 2 conjus and Co
