View Full Version : Starting again and looking for old friends
Hi, I'm just downloading again and going to start playing when I have the time. I used to play Horus-Alsius before warmaster and wanted to see if anyone I used to know (or might know) was here still. The last chars I played were mythknight and healermyth, so post up if I knew you or would have seen you around back then, since it would be better to have people to play with. Also, can someone tell me what happened to winged wolves and why did they change the servers?

Welcome back bro. I honestly can't say that I remember you but then again my memory isn't all that great. I still see a couple of WWT's online so I'm sure you can hook up with some of your friends.
I must warn you though. Times are tough in Alsius at the moment. We are getting steamrolled by Syrtis everyday but we have somewhat of an alliance with Ignis when it comes to getting invaded. If you can look past that I'm sure you'll enjoy the game. Btw there are new dance emotes!!!!!
Thanks for the quick response. When I log on, I might just be able to ask around for people. I was surfing the forums and there are a lot of people still playing. You don't happen to know what happened in WWT do you?
Times have been tough in Alsius for a long time lol, after the first clans broke up we were steamrolled constantly, but some of the best players I knew were Alsius.
[edit] When I get in the game I'll ask around for you. It'll probably take me a while to get adjusted, and I gave away all my gear, but I'll see you around.

Who knows. Alot of players in all realms are leaving rapidly due to realm imbalances. Also a large amount of players left on the 28th of August this year which also happened to be the release date of Guild Wars 2. I wonder if those two dates are connected somehow?
However I do see Whisp Q and a couple of other WWT players online alot. Some of them might have left for other clans but are still actively playing.

There's a bit of an imbalance problem right now in RO, but Alsius has been pretty helpful to Ignis so far. +1 for joining goats.

Winged Wolf Tavern (WWT) was disbanded due to problems with the leader. The current WWT is a new clan, with new management. Unfortuantely I think there are strong differences in the two clans due to several factors. For example, many players ended up in Fallen Angels clan instead.
As for the servers, NGD started an American server called Raven with a company called GameSamba at one point, it was later merged with Horus because both servers were tiny which was causing serious balance issues and war was almost never occuring. The new server called Haven is still under the management of GameSamba, meaning that is policed by GMs, and there are regular events like experience boosts.
Each character received a name change scroll after the merge, which you can find in your character stashes.
If you're looking for an active and robust clan, I recommend joining The Arcadian Guard (TAG). Other clans tend to be smaller war-focused groups that only recruit friends or players who are known to have a good reputation. There are exceptions; but this is the general rule, in order to keep multirealmers out.
Irsh's clan, which is changing names too often to keep track of, is also good for both levelling and warzone activites, and has a good size.

I still lurk around here from time to time, but I'm not really playing these days.
What Kit said was mostly correct. Clan dramarama lead to a disbandment, WhisperQ reformed it immediately, but R was originally wanting to restart under the same name with a clean slate, but Q beat him to it. So, R formed Shadow Wolves, which became something different, and nowadays I don't think he really plays much anymore.
As to the stuff leading up to disbanding it, well, there was a clique that was causing behind-the-scenes drama.
After all that I started playing on Raven, and (now) Haven since I could bring my old characters over. My names are the same, but I'm in "A Clan" now with jango, spencer, and a few others (which we haven't played much together in some time)
But, like I said, I'm not really playing right now, just keeping tabs to see what direction these updates take. I last logged on seriously maybe 4 or 5 months ago. I'm doing other stuff nowadays. :P
Anyway, the old group may have changed their names after the merge. I don't know, and I didn't really see them around much when I was playing more regularly.
