View Full Version : What I loved about regnum

I loved the fact that no matter if i spent xim or not people were not more powerful than me in combat situations in the past.

I loved the fact that I could play casual or hardcore at times and still expect the same game experience.

I loved that the game was not based on uber items but instead unber tactics and team work.

I loved that Regnum was made by a small company that cared about our desires and what we the players wanted.

I loved that the devs played the game with us to get a first hand experience of how the game work in real time.

what did you guys love about regnum?

That's right but not in a 1 vs 1 situation (unless that op-player a complet dumbo is, ofc). Those xim-boys hit you 2,3,4 times harder than normal ones and resist you all.

I've also seen extremely well-geared players kill two enemy players at the same time even when those players were using good teamwork and skills.

This is simply because if the person has good weapons you can't stop all of his fast damage, and if he has gemmed armor with alot of health or mana you can't hardly damage him or wear him down... I've written on this topic many times before, but people just always tell me "gear doesn't matter much".

I loved doing crazy things with my friends, fighting impossible fights and laugh about our stupid deaths.

I loved being spammed by green chat and having to re-read it for 10 min after a (small) fort war

I loved having all the time in the world and just ride aimlessly around inner and having fun in alsius chat

The fact that i say that i loved things that are no more must mean i have played this game way to long

i loved the time that evades and resists were NOT a often thing to happen, but now EVERY PVP got 2 or 3 + resists. fucking classes like hunter (trully deppendent of his few CCs) cant have a trustable strategy now coz be sure the enemy will resist most.

I agree that resists/evades are an annoying and persistent feature of the game, but it has been like this for as long as i can remember. In fact if anything it used to be worse, with archer evade rates previously a lot higher.

Also agree with DemonMonger, the game was much fairer in the past, when gear was a minor factor. Not sure what NGD can do about this tho, because as with all MMO's they want to give players the aspiration that they will eventually get a nice item. Gearing up adds a dimension to the game that is attractive to a lot of players. And of course it is a way for NGD make money, which is necessary for the continuation of the game.

Any well organized team with good tactics and OP items can own your team’s ass.

Not sure if your forum joining date is correct, if it is.

It doesnt count for you, you started in WM era.

right becoz it was said that you had to be pre-WM/pre-horus/from the start of the game to post something

and i meant it, i hardly play any online game longer than 2/3 months ive been playing RO for roughly 17 months now
(and not just 1h per day..)

No shit sherlock.
Hence the reason I said; Not sure if you forum joining date is correct. Correct as in same date for joining the game.

And no, WM has always sucked camel balls.

I like that they went out of their way to make a Linux port at a time when nobody gave a shit about Linux gaming.

I liked it better when they had only one server thoguh since it kept everyone active and I could jump on at random hours ofthe night and actualy find someone on from someone else on earth.

Things could be allot better though, the grind just takes far too long and is far too booring to keep allot of people interested long enough to be able to survive the in the WZ.

Oh! Someone remembers me kindly :ohill:

We may have made some mistakes, but if we hadn't made most of the changes Regnum had through all this years, I'm sure we would not have seen Regnum survive.

Thanks to everyone that, despite this, appreciates the real essence of the game, which is what makes most of us still being here.

I would love to see the return of the old animations :(

Problem with all the changes NGD makes to the game, they don't keep enough for nostalgia, there's no "fan stuff" of sorts in the game. It would be nice if some things like the old forts, old animations, etc. were all kept in the game in some way in order to make older players feel like they're still at home.

As it stands we're just old people in an ever stranger and unfamiliar world.

Remember when spells used to look cool, as they weren't almost unnoticable graphics that were all the same color for each class?

Never knew why they changed it.
