View Full Version : What creatures give best loot/drops

I play in Alsius and have two lvl 30ish characters and I have just got my younger brother playing. We are both in our mid 20s and love the game for something to do after work. BTW I do not mind dropping 20USD every now and then for premium content like mounts and some 60+ lvl gear but I was wondering...

While grinding to lvl 60, which creatures give the best loot/drops. I understand that leaders and bosses give better drops but we know that it takes a team of sorts to kill them. I've noticed that stone gollems and ghosts give pretty good loot, anyone know of any other creatures in the game that give good loot/drops?

Thanks!:eguitar:

There has to be some sort of formula or algorithm to it...I mean, I'm a computer science guy and a programmer so theoretically nothing is purely random. I do notice that drops seem better with challenging/hard creatures and some "seem" more likely to drop gems/items than others but maybe I'm just falling victim to self-fulfilling prophecy here...I might be :P

Yes, I suppose there is a pattern to drops, caused by the difference in yours and the mobs level. However, I think the drop chance from all same-level creatures would be the same. Ie. it shouldn't matter which mob you drop-grind on, as long as it has the same level.
Dropped items are also random, but I tend to get loads of mage staffs, more then other items. Perhaps, there is some variable in gem/armour/weapon drop chance.

To get highest chance of items, I recommend grinding on challenging/normal mobs, as with some experience you can kill them the fastest and therefore maintain higher item/time ratio, than while killing harder mobs.

As Ichigo wrote, the chances of a same-class drop, with good stats is quite low. You will obtain best items by trading with other players, especially later in the game. There is not much point to look for good gear under level 50. Therefore my advice is, grind with whatever you get from drops/quests, until you have level 50, then start looking for better gear.

PS. Also note, that drops are close to the mobs own level.

Thanks a bunch...I have a knight I'm leveling right now and also get lots of staves, gloves and hoods that I can't use as well but my brother is leveling a warlock so we trade back and forth when we get stuff

Very long time ago, when lvl cap was lvl50 I grinded 1 million xp at SH and another 1 million xp at syrtis inner beach. I screenshotted every item I dropped. Note that was the time when we did not have any kind of loot boosters.

I got MUCH less drops at SH. SH mobs are golems, cyclops and beetles. Inner beach kelontes, aquantis, lizards and golems.
However, because lvl cap was lvl50, I usually at SH killed only lvl51(52?) cyclops because other mobs were too high lvl and took lots of time to kill. At the beach I killed every kind of mobs.

The conclusion I got from that was that cyclops drop less items. Nothing very official, but I have theory; monsters that give you small amounts of gold when you kill them, have smaller chance to drop items. They still drop items, but I think less than kelontes, lions and other animal mobs.

keep the better stuff you drop, you will most likely make another class someday
or you could use it to trade

but id say sell the comon stuff for gold

and if you need some help feel free to pm me (names in signature, tho you'll have to add '(horus)' behind my hunters name)

Now he has lots of gold from me, he hopes, it will stay worthy :D

On topic:
Sell all the "normal" items, unless you use them.
Keep all magical/epic/legendary items, they are relatively rare and usually good (they appear in green/purple/red writing)
Keep (for now) special items, you will be able to distinguish later, whether they are any good
keep all gems, that can be engraved (add bonuses to weapons) for further use
Keep all amulets/rings from quest - they don't weight anything anyway
Keep magnanites, from those rocks lying around.

That's about it :D

What I forgot to mention is, that lower levels drop more often than higher levels. Meaning, that you are more likely to drop loads of stuff on lvl 10, than on lvl 50. This might be due to balancing the required number of mob kills each level.

Not all normal items are useless. I'd take a vgood vs pierce elite marks gaunt over an epic with tons of hc and conc and bad resists any day :hat:

I am somewhat of an item whore...this might crack someone up..I have saved every gem the game has ever given me as loot. Magic gems and non magic, I've collected them all. I kinda want to look in my character stash and gaze at my treasure as if I'm scrooge McDuck off of duck tails or something. Pretty goofy huh :punk:

That's true, but since rootproksy is lvl 30 (correct me, if I'm wrong), pierce resists won't matter so much, because he won't be joining war just yet..

Some loot items can be used to gain few xp's - look at the realm taskboard (just ask in realm chat, someone will point you to it), generate tasks that can give you xp for loot obtained from mobs near your level.

Magic gems are good to keep, they can boost your weapon stats a lil bit :). Minor gems are quite common, but major and great gems can be worth a lot.
