View Full Version : Clarification on relics, invasions and such
Hi,
I am just asking a few questions which I hope could provide useful info for me. I have not played that much recently nor scoured the forums in any deep way in recent times either. So, I am a bit behind in terms of the current way of things.
I saw a closed thread regarding the relic on horse and realised that I actually have no clue about it. Frosk closed it and to be honest, wrote a lot there that was totally useless to me from an information point of view. Maybe he wrote about it elsewhere as to what was the official mechanism.
My questions are :
Is there a thread where there is an official statement on whether horsing with relic is good or not?
Also, are there threads with any official notes on invasions and the rules ,mechanics and so on?
Do instances work ?
I looked around and there seem to be dribbles and drips in various places but still nothing concrete in terms of overview. If there were official statements I am yet to find any with much substance. I found nothing pinned . Yes, I looked at the change-logs. It was somewhat useful.
Links would be helpful if anybody has any.
Thank you.

What can I answer you is your first question.
According to this thread, mounting with gem is allowed.

(See 7th and 8th post.)
To your second question, I think you probably know more than me :p
To your third, last time I saw, they are but no one is participating. True or not, I don't know.

I assume he did not answer because of the form of it. You did not ask, but complain without foundation to your claims. Frosk's answer reflects some annoyance about that kind of behaviour. If you wouldve asked in a respectful way if it is allowed to mount while carrying relics im sure he wouldve answered.
In the thread linked 2 posts above Wyatt mentioned that it isnt a bug to be able to mount with relics so this should be clarified.
@OP:
About instancing - well it works. Santa's Home was in an instance and the Team Deathmatch Battles are too. They just seem to not work right now (never get an invite) thus could be disabled.
Thanks guys. That was helpful. Question one is answered for me.
I did try to get into a death-match early on but was never able to get in even after hours waiting. I assumed either it was oversubscribed or something was wrong. The posts I read here were a bit confusing as to whether they worked good or were active or not.
I got into the Santa one but well, there were only candy canes there.
As for number two, I suppose I will have to wait till it goes into a full mode. I am thinking that has not happened yet.
I read somewhere that maybe the 21st of this month or somewhere around that time it NGD hoped to go into full mode and end the test phase. Any info as to if that is still so?
@ Tamui, I think I know how its is supposed to work but I am not really confident about that. Most of the information I have is really third hand and due to real life constraints, I have not had the time to test much of anything .

Yeah i was annoyed, i am annoyed by this stupid part of this update since it came alive.
And i probably should have ''kindly'' asked it.
First of all, using a XIM item to transfer an item that let an realm invade is in my point of view ridiculous.
Secondly, if a relic carrier is mounted, it hardly cant be taken back(like you can with a realm gem)
But as a Chief moderator or a company, it is required to explain some stuff that is going on in the game, we never had a decent answer from a NGD employee, besides what Wyatt said.
The form of communication is what lacks, in my point of view.
And i do think that NGD staff havent tested the dragon damages and relics by themselfs.
I cannot find a decent reason to let a dragon hit a whole zerg INSIDE THE GREAT WALL for over 1000 damage, only knights or archers with retalliation on.
And the dragon is impossible to defeat without a zerg containing of 100 barbs, knights and conjus.

I even agree to many of your points, however its not constructive in this form. The highest chances to get your voice heard and taken serious is to pose your concerns to debate in a mannered way.
@Bois: i read somewhere it was supposed to launch on jan. 20th if all goes right.

I agree with Quincebo that some aspects of the new invasion system should have been subjected to more close thougth.
The lack of a decent guide and some problems with the mechanics (relic cages opening after server restarts, dragon doing insane damage, etc.) create some misunderstandings among the players.
No matter what the players say or complain NGD's representatives should never forget to be customer friendly even if they do not agree with what we post. After all the customer is always right

To be honest, I find it ridiculous that you are able to move a relic on a mount irrespective of whether its allowed or not. It would be nice if we could have some kind of explanation as to why it is the way it is?

Probably forcing people to buy mounts xD
Mm I don't think that "the customer is always right" is really NGD's policy. In fact the opposite may be true. As for the culture of the company, for a long time the communication culture has been poor.
Based on evidence over 4+ years I don't expect that to change. It is simply too entrenched from the top brass.
However , if I intend to continue to keep playing the game, I will have to wade through the mire to pan for the nuggets of useful information.
This is the purpose of my thread here.
What I am hoping to find is a collection of bits and pieces that I can paste together to actually get a perspective of the whole update.
After I get that, I may actually be able to comment on this update.
