Hello,
I have played many mmo's (Warhammer online, Dark Age of Camelot, WoW, Rift, GW1 and 2, Swtor etc etc etc the list goes on).
I was wondering how good this game is as i'm interested in the 3 faction PvP side. I am of the understanding that the game is several years old, and if so why haven't i heard of it before?(considering my amount of mmo gaming down they years).
Also is this game modern enough in feel and smoothness during PvP and Pve to warrant playing as i have only just created my account after seeing this on Steam.
Does it have full open world with crafting and auction houses etc??
I await your replies with interest.

Hello and welcome.
This game tries to focus mainly on RvR, forts, gates, open fields etc.
Now there are Team Deathmatch instances which one can pan participate in a 8v8v8. I think, I'm not sure, but you need to be atleast level 10.
This game has no crafting. The only item you can "craft" if a Magnantite Wepeon. You basically collect 5000 or 7500 Magnantites and select which weapon you need. It is very time consuming in and a little diffivult for new players, so be aware.
There are auction houses where you basically put your item for a desired amount and time, etc. Etc.
Thedevelopers are working hard on this game and expansion which are trying to create more instances and fair drop rates throughout the classes, using instances.
I hope I helped clear some of your doubts.
Almost forgot. You can do PvPs in arenas.

Hi, welcome to Regnum
Yes, this game is not fairly well known, since it's and indie MMORPG, developed by a small studio, located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The English base was very small, compared to the Spanish-based community, but with some recent events (including the Steam integration), our little community is growing exponentially :)
PvE is pain- designated to bring you to higher levels. Controls might be a bit sluggish at first sight, but you will get customised to them shorty (make sure to disable options in the game-control options in the game). Fluidity of the game-play is quite good, but I can't really compare, because my lack of MMORPG experience. I heard, some players had difficulty to get accustomed to the game controls, when coming from WoW..
My advice would be to watch some game-play videos on youtube, and find out for yourself (search for champions of regnum, so you get feeling of the latest versions of the game).
PvP and RvR is especially the focus of the game, the sole purpose of it :D. Untill you get to lvl 30+, you cannot experience much of war unfortunately (that might have changed with the recent instances though).
Auction house is present. Crafting only in one quest, so can't really be counted.
Also worthy to mention - all the features are available for free, except for a permanent mount, which still comes quite cheap, if you decide to get it (it only helps you to move faster - get your quests done. No advantage in combat whatsoever. On the contrary, it gets you killed sometimes). The other premium items are generally designed to improve the visual aspect of your character, or save you some time by getting your character to level up faster.
Therefore, the game can be fully experienced, without investing anything.
I hope this helped,
Regards.

Just started playing and i couldn't find anywhere to do keyboard rebinds for abilities.
I would hate to have to use buttons 1-12 etc because as a pvp player that must be a nightmare.

This one is still the biggest draw back in the gameplay section for me, there is no way to bind them legally without the help of reverse engeneering or external tools right now.
The only thing you can do is to activate the 2nd quickbar in the ingame options and access those with [shift] + numbers.
It seems many players dont need fully customization abilities there, but im glad of any player who complains about the lack of it in forums - maybe the devs will consider adding it at some point then.

Hate to say it but thats me out already then. I have played alot of pvp in mmo's and its essential for smooth/reactive gameplay.
Shame as i liked the look of this.

Sad to see you go.
However, I'd like to recommend a video for you to see if the game does provide smooth/reactive enough gameplay for you

What's true for other MMORPG's might not be quite true for RO. Although custom key binding would be nice, I don't consider it 'essential' for smooth gameplay.
Sad to hear that you're out.

Are you not allowed to remap keys with mouse/keyboard software, scripts like auto hot key or similar?

Its a greyzone, technically you could probably get sanctioned for doing so.
