Need Some Help & Expert advise about hunter :)

Hello Everyone...
I have recently started hunting with my lvl 60 hunter, but before i get started up i wanted to know some trick's , tactic's & combo's & how to play properly with a hunter & also i wanted to ask some questions to the community !

1) What is best combo after u come up from camo ?
2) What to do if enemy tree hugs ?
3) How to play in fort wars ?
4) How to kill warriors ? ( i hardly kill any barb :( )
5) How to do running camo ? :P

If any expert hunter over here could help me, it will be really appreciated.
& If you have any link to several ready-made threads telling the answers of my questions, i would be very thankful to you + i wanted to know how to deal dmg without boss jwelleries :P

1, Well, I'd do the following:

Outta camo normal hit on target, followed by distracting shot (3-4), change to your OP sb ( xD ), buff up with rapid shot (1-2) dirty fighting --> ambush (4-5)----> do some normals+ens, but you can go the sudden strike +confuse way too --->SOTW --->cold blood --> normals+ens

Of course it depends on the class of the target, so it can be changed, for instance if the target is a barb, I'd definitely use caltrops on him after the ambush so he cant hide behind anything xD.

2, In fort fights I'd always skill as many CC's as I could, such as caltrops arrow (4-5), you can try repetition shot as well but it got nerfed so I wouldn't suggest it..

Actually I don't make much of a difference in setups, be it hunting or fort fights, if you skill for fort battles, that setup might work out well when it comes to hunting as well :).
(Just don't forget distracting shot, confuse and caltrops :D)

3, Always go for mages, target conjus as first priority target, try to confuse them,
Try to slow down the "enemy zerg" with your caltrops, use sudden strike on knights+barbs (if they aren't DI'd xD), and spam Ens on everything that moves.
I think it's the most you can do as a hunter ^^


4, As I already said, the key word is slowing down your enemy so you can hit him many times.

5, Everyone's pissed when a hunter runs behind a tree/rock and goes camo, it's a dirty thing IMO, but hell, hunters can do it (for now) so let 'em do it ^^
It's not always working since camo gets canceled by any attack.
I hope that is what you meant by saying "running camo".

It sound more like what I (and without any doubt many others) witnessed in some chases or fights - a hunter runs and suddenly camoes without even stopping to cast Camouflage (mind you, I don't mean a previously camoed hunter disappearing after Reveal ends). Hard to say if it's some sort of bug/glitch abuse or just pure cheating, but it happens quite often.

No idea how to do that and tbh, I don't really feel like I want to know. Camoing behind a rock/tree may be considered dirty, but "running camo" is truly pathetic.

I believe the correct way to produce it is to autorun, cast camo, and after 1 second exactly you autorun again. Takes a few tries but it is possible to reproduce it this way

I by no means consider myself to be a good hunter, but I can attempt to bestow what little knowledge I have on you. A lot of what I'm about to say may have been said already so apologies in advanced.


1) What is best combo after u come up from camo ?


The key to being a good player in this game, irrespective of class is to know your enemy and what he's capable of and anticipate what spells he would use next. If you can be one step ahead of your enemy, you've already won the fight.

The combo you chose you use would be situational based on what class you're going up against, what your enemy is currently engaged in, whether you are alone or not or what spells you may have observed him using while stalking him.

The obvious combo that most hunters open with would be a distracting shot into a buff up stage followed by an ambush and cold blood. It would be best to open with a normal hit in this case to take advantage of that bonus damage from stealth. Also, don't use it on an enemy that's fighting a mob or another enemy if that isn't obvious enough.

I honestly don't like using this combo unless I know it will kill my target simply because it leaves you vulnerable at the second your enemy stands up (unless you use ambush(5) or something). Due to GCD you might be caught in a CC while jamming your SOTW button. For this reason I find it is best to stand behind your enemy while performing this combo, those precious seconds your enemy has to waste to turn around could be the difference between being able to counter his next attack or not. Marksman/Mages/Barbarians can easily turn the table and shift control of the fight to them with a Winter Stroke/Will Domain/Roar. Those classes are superior to maintaining control of a fight to a hunter so handing it to them is pretty much signing your death wish.

Another option is to open with Confuse. Again this will depend on what class you're up against. For example, you should never open with confuse on a marksman unless you're positive his winter stroke is on cooldown. Hunter's are pretty much useless while confused so feel free to use it on them but be sure to avoid his stun fist because its his last resort in that situation. Warlocks have too much CC spells that bypass confuse so don't even risk it unless you're willing to cover it with a SoTW etc. Then you could simply open with SoTW which is useful against mages if successful. Opening in this way servers to purpose of weakening you're enemy so you can execute with the regular distracting shot combo which is where the bulk of your damage comes from. There are many other combo's such as: ambush> Tear/Break_apart> Confuse> Sotw followed by a df+rs+cb into a stun fist if he's still alive, which can be effective too. It all depends on the situation.


2) What to do if enemy tree hugs ?


As a hunter, your best bet is to try to land a stun fist. Its pretty hard to do especially if your ping sucks. The trick is to bait your enemy into moving to a certain direction. Remember it takes longer to stop and cast than it does to just cast so be patient and lure your enemy into your attack. Also keep in mind that most spells have Global Cooldowns so if you see an enemy casting something like a buff try to take advantage of his vulnerability. SoTW isn't to useful in a tree fight as your enemy will just avoid you till its over. Rather save it to break a CC chain if you do get caught in one.


3) How to play in fort wars ?


Hunters in fort wars are a bit crappy to be honest. When I play at forts I usually just try to put pressure on enemy conjurers. I don't get many kills but I'm allowing my allies to benefit from it while their conjurer is distracted. You could stealth behind enemy lines and take out key targets which is very risky so do not do this unless you're fighting at your home fort or have an escape plan. Keep tracking and make sure no enemy reinforcements arrive. Call it out when you do track anything not coming from the fort. Not much else to fort wars with a hunter.


4) How to kill warriors ? ( i hardly kill any barb :( )


Its tough but you just gotta keep kiting. You'll burn them down eventually.


5) How to do running camo ? :P


This is a bug and happens occasionally by accident. You are in no way meant to be able to cast anything while moving so rather avoid trying to reproduce this because it could get you banned.

Assuming you are not yet WM,

You can change taming as you like depending on the mob you wanna tame ofc :)

If you're WM already it's harder, you might wanna get the full WM tree too, tho I'd only go till Head of the pack ( lv 15), in that case you still have 1500 discipline points... so, here (http://trainer.claninquisition.org/trainer.html?s=gb9hcaaaadbaaaasADbazufFFhxuFsFGzua afay) it goes :)
(you can try to drop SOTW and get caltrops instead of it )

Honestly, confuse 1 is all you need when you're using pets, skin of the beast 1 is still very effective, revive pet 3 for the convenience most of the other stuff should be obvious. You're not completely useless when your pet dies with this setup because of the damage passives :)

It is like a game of soccer where one team knows a secret way of making the ball automatically fly 100% faster. Though of course some skills will remain kind of secret for a while.
