Looks like NGD don't care about CoR anymore.
Many bugs and broken mechanics are there since ages, still waiting for fixes.
Community never got a roadmap as asked many many times.
NGD doesn't even publish changelogs or news (... news section of this forum is pathetic...).
Website is totally out of date, new "Hall of Fame" feature looks like a dead way (on Haven, for sure).

So, NGD, any official statement about the death of CoR ?

They should hire interns. No kidding. RO is full of programmers, designers, people with good ideas for quests, etc. And I bet some would love to donate time to help make the game better, and grab some valuable experience along the way. NGD obviously can't handle this on their own as it stands. Let people work on minimal bug fixes, new quests and even revamp the site so it doesn't suck, including marketing and SEO. PR 4 is pretty shit. My website is barely known and it has a ranking of 5. Some official, high quality pvp vids floating around on YouTube might help a little, too. NGD have the most valuable tools at their disposal: CoR players. Use it or welcome an inevitable demise.

I agree with you, but it is easier to say than implement and control. Especially if these people work remotely. You can't trust to these people by 100%, they can't have access to sensitive parts of the code since formally they aren't your employees (no responsibility for bad actions), but they could work with small fixes which shall be later approved by NGD's staff (ofc. if the quality of the code would be good), designers could work on graphic components, textures. Many people leave just because of not-so-good-looking graphic - sad truth, but almost all of my friends who have seen this game said to me that, "this game has awful graphic" and refused to play with me. :(

All I just want to say is that, NGD can get big support in every aspect of CoR's development and popularization from their own community with a little effort. The thing is - they need to want it... :-)

Seven months (http://www.championsofregnum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=99435) is a lot of time, don't know about you but I'm definitely waiting for something big, something more than the instanced dragon lairs...

Would be cool to see some bugs being fixed, reworked invasion system, UI improvements (give us lock spells at last!!), just a few things I'd like to see in the upcoming update :).

More communication toward us players also would be good.

Oh and BTW dear NGD...

"2013-07-05 22:04: Discounts during July!
Hey everyone!
During July we'll perform several discounts in the Item Mall, regarding items from all categories!
These discounts will be held each weekend and they'll go from 20% to 50% off in some cases!
Check the "New" category in the Item Mall for more info!"

There was no "New" category there this weekend, nothing was discounted ^^
( sry for the off topic but didn't want to open up another thread about this )

Sorry but the "somos pocos" argument no longer works.

If only they put a third of the effort they spent on instancing and the relic system to make some bugfixes, balance and enhance the RvR instead, the game would be a lot better now...

Even a small effort in the right direction beats a big one in the wrong way. Stacking new stuff on a broken base is never going to be successful...

The time this hypothetical new update is taking them must prove to be worth it. Perhaps they are working on giving us what we've been asking for years in terms of balance and gameplay and bugs and stuff. Or maybe they're designing new cool looking costumes.

I will, as I've always, hope for the best. Even if the best has [almost] never happened yet.

Fingers crossed, for the 897954965th time.

I think it will be great if buggs are fixed , old arena is back & the dragon's update should finally come but atm the game mechanics is still to be improved because
1- SOTW cannot stop kicks & roar
2- You die in camo by a stupid 2h spell

What this game needs is something which NGD can't provide. There are quite literally hundreds of bugs, unfixed for years now. As Scias said, they continue to build new features into their game introducing new bugs on top of the old ones, without ever fixing it. Why are the bugs unfixed? Because the 10 year old code is too complicated. But that's like me saying I

Essentially what is taking place at the moment with this game is you have old coders who have left and the current coders who have no idea what the old coders have done. Knowing NGD, I bet you the code is in such a mess, with lack of comments and it's probably one hell of a mountain to climb before they can even consider fixing bugs. That being said, it's a mountain worth climbing as people are leaving because of these bugs. No one likes to invest time in a game where bugs remain unfixed (http://www.championsofregnum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81041) for 2 years or more (I kid you not). At this rate, this entire project is a sinking ship, albeit a very slow one.

I hope at least, when the game does die, they decide to open source it.

NGD clearly implied in a previous & similar complaint thread that bugfizes weren't coming, now or ever. Awrath repeats what others, including himself, have previously said about the circumstance. It's just too much work, allowed to go undone for way too long, & essentially impossible to iron all out now. FYI: NGD is never going to invest the time/effort to do it as there is, at best, only marginal, if any, profit$ in doing so.

Their business model (as I & others have also said b4), is to do all they can to 'doll' this thing up as much as possible with eyecandy & familiar features, constantly draw in rube noobs, get a$ much from them a$ po$$ible b4 they get wise to this game's incomplete nature & many flaws, & never regret it when they later leave disgusted, for it frees up very limited bandwidth & server-site resources for newer noobs .... rinse-&-repeat ....
