Haven't played in a while and am restarting and going to roll a barb. Will be on haven server, in syrtis.
I am looking for a mature organized rvr clan.

um.. welcome back.. you can't find your old character? or maybe just feel like trying a new realm...
syrtis has quite a few good clans.
here is a ranking list of all syrtis clans on haven
http://www.championsofregnum.com/index.php?l=1&sec=40&rank=0&world=1&realm=3&class=-1&range=0
I <3 Azabael seems active in wz. So does Trolls.
Forsaken is a big clan but im not sure they are as active now.
I guess you are after an RvR clan which is active in organising attacks etc? I'm not sure which syrtis clan does that diligently.
Hope you can tell us a bit about earlier times with your earlier character :P

I played a lvl 60 knight in the alsius clan pack of bastards (rumple, karma, bright, kang, shaia, backslash, chaz, and others) when they were in their prime. i have some experience with all the classes except marksman, but my knight was the main (Shaia'tan taught me how to play it if anyone remembers him). i was around in horus and transferred to haven when it opened up. Haven was fun at the start... the pob vs la vaniteuse wars (all of whom hacking in some way or another), alsius invasions every night. I remember some people still playing now... crushing elva and hutch, evangeline speed hacking for which she got temporarily banned. Heck i remember hutch at lvl 30 solo charging 3-4 pob lvl 60 knights and all of us bursting out laughing newbie (newb, not noob) on vent. Ironically after all this time playing he might be better then any of us now.
i left for a number of reasons. Graphics, lack of a ranking system, low population, pay to win, boats, and I think was just bored. I wanted to try out other games as regnum was one of my first. People i knew also stopped playing.
I tried out a number of games since then, pvp and pve. Lord of the rings online, warhammer online, wow, swtor, and others. All excellent games in their own rights, and beautiful. And all have their flaws. there is no perfect game.
Warhammer online... possibly the greatest rvr game ever (yes I've played doac). Its a beautiful game with great mechanics (I can go into details on why I think its the best), but my computer couldn't handle it, and my real life schedule doesn't really work with a subbed gamed. Also there is no active ranking system in warhammer online, its just a mindless grind for renown points and when you reach the top level there isn't really much else to do. The fighting is great, the rewards for fighting are not so great.
LOTRO... simply the best pve game i've ever played. Lots of quests, great stories, beautiful landscape, free to play for the most part. But in the end pve gets boring and repetitive, no matter how big it is. still though i occasionally play it when i feel like a really chill semi movie experience.
Wow... is one of the worst games i've tried. worse then warhammer for pvp, worse then lotro for pve, lots of kids, bad graphics. I can go on and on really.
star wars knights of the old republic... awesome and different game. If you feel like sci fi its pretty cool. Being a jedi or sidh is awesome. its like baldurs gate in the sense that you can pick from different options of what to say, and your choices effect your character. Its has some pvp but its not developed enough. Its really more of a button masher rather then a skilled pvp game. The pve is nearly just as good as lotro and just as amazing graphics.
And so back to regnum, and after experienced the above games and others my view changed on regnum a bit.
- first, its not as pay to win as I had thought it to be. I tried other f2p games perfect world and runes of magic... and I thought them to be much worse. In RO The difference between someone decking out in cash shop items and someone with dropped/traded green/purple items is not as significant as other games. Obviously the person with less gear will have a harder time, but its negligible compared to a game like warhammer online where a player with max gear can stand still and laugh at someone with inferior gear. Sure i'll buy some cs gear at 60, but i don't feel obliged to.
- better graphics doesnt mean better game play. i found myself wishing for simpler graphics so I could actually see whats going on. sure i could turn down animation in other games but then I would miss the skill animations of enemy players, putting me at a disadvantage. Even if i buy another computer the animations are over top so much that a whole group of players doing stuff at once would produce so much light/sparks/whatever that i wouldn't see whats going on anyways.
-boats are gone, and from what I've heard the invasion system is better. not perfect ofc, but then again nothing is.
-population is just right, 50v50 fights are ok every once in a while but when every fight is like that it just turns into a zerg fest. the more people there are, the less skilled play counts.
-i dont have to pay a monthly sub. can play when i want without wasting sub money.
-apparently regnum points are not the only thing and there is another system to work towards. Sounds good to me. We'll see how it goes.
------------
Anyways still looking for a clan.

Can't invite you myself: different realm and I just got back this week after a long pause (I'm not on a clan yet, but rolling with some old friends), but if you feel no joy on this Syrtis experience hop in Ignis!
I'll be doing a new char to enjoy this game fully again (so many changes that it's almost mandatory), and the lads I've rekindled contact with would surely welcome you among their ranks.
Regardless, welcome back and have fun!

I like the fact that they split the game into level brackets each with their own warzone, something discussed on this forum quite a lot but to a smaller extent. However I got bored of this game before I could reach the end-game, I might go back sometime because in terms of RvR it was as you said pretty good.
LOTRO... simply the best pve game i've ever played. Lots of quests, great stories, beautiful landscape, free to play for the most part. But in the end pve gets boring and repetitive, no matter how big it is. still though i occasionally play it when i feel like a really chill semi movie experience.
As good as its PvE is, its PvP (or PvMP) is terrible in my honest opinion.
Wow... is one of the worst games i've tried. worse then warhammer for pvp, worse then lotro for pve, lots of kids, bad graphics. I can go on and on really.
I actually really enjoyed WoW. Well less and less with every expansion. I liked the fact that I can reach the level cap purely through PvP via battlegrounds or similarly through dungeons (for those not into PvP). Battlegrounds will keep you occupied for months after reaching the level cap and Arenas were intense. World PvP was amazing in Wotlk which is when I started playing. It got pretty much ruined in Cataclysm when flying mounts were made global and reduced to ganking Tol Barad questers as our only form of entertainment while waiting for bg's.
Anyway don't discredit WoW for its retarded community, graphics are unique and caters for players low-spec computers. Its still a decent game and kind of became the blueprint for most of the mmorpg's that were released after it. I wont be going back to it anytime soon but I wouldn't deny that I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent playing it.

SW:TOR is pretty much WoW with lightsabers. Nice PvE storylines which one of the best PvE's I've experienced so far. Levelling up becomes tedious after a while even though its mostly questing. World PvP is dead. BG's aren't nearly as fun as WoW's. For those who love Star Wars, this game is amazing but this breed of mmorpg is slowly becoming stale.
The way the mmorpg industry is evolving, it would seem that these target selecting and clicking skills games are slowly being replaced with action mmorpgs such as Tera, Raiderz, Blade and Soul etc. You should really check some of those games out of your PC can handle them. I'm having a hell of alota fun playing Raiderz at the moment and its download size isn't as huge as Tera's.
Anyway from what I've heard, most of the PoB clan moved to Guild Wars 2 when it was released. Not sure they're all still there but there are still a handful of them left in Alsius. Good luck in Syrtis and in CoR in general.

Wahey, a new Gelf. Welcome aboard!
Hmmmm, mature and organised rvr clan...
In syrtis we normally do things like this - party 1 rushes past PB1 for Sam, while party 2 wait patiently at pp2 for trelle, while party 3 decides to take aggers after hunting near goat OC.
Best clans for you would probably be (in alphabetic order) Elite of Syrtis, Inquisition, and Syrtis War Stalkers.
All three clans are long established, have good numbers of active warring members, and are the main ppl you'll see at fort wars. Of the three I think SWS are the largest - there's always an SWS member online. Having been in EoS I know they form war and grind parties, depending on what you are doing. I'm new to Inq so not too sure of their practices, but I have to say that their teamwork is off the charts from what I've seen so far.
All three clans have some really great people, whom I absolutely adore!
Chocolate is also a good clan from what I see, but new. TWC and Forsaken are also good, but not so numerous. The other clans I haven't had much contact with.
I'd suggest before joining any clan spend some time with their ppl and see who you get along with best. If you want any help feel free to msg me in game - Jarne/Jaro Seeker. Msg anyways, would be nice to welcome you aboard in-game :)
Happy gaming!

Just in case, contact points:
EoS - Elva
SWS - Beta, Titanium Axle, Candyx (insert between 1 and 6 x's and you're fine)
Inq - Pauluzz, Warlockz

Welcome back!
I recommend Inquisition, doesn't get any better than that in Syrtis in terms of organisation and overall knowledge of the game. Have a word with Pauluzz or Rathaloz I'm sure they can get you in.
Don't go to Elite of Syrtis. Unless you want to go around with Elva hunting down grinders with 6-10 level 40-50s, if that's your thing, by all means!
(Speaking as an ex-gelf, would've recommended my old clan :P but they are all long gone, RIP Reclamation).

As an Ex-EoS member, not all EoS go around ganking grinders! Almost all my hunters rps are fort war rps :)
Yup re Inquisition, though SWS are pretty cool too.

re lotro: As good as its PvE is, its PvP (or PvMP) is terrible in my honest opinion.
aye, its dreadful to the extent I didn't even mention it XD.
re WAR: I like the fact that they split the game into level brackets each with their own warzone, something discussed on this forum quite a lot but to a smaller extent. However I got bored of this game before I could reach the end-game, I might go back sometime because in terms of RvR it was as you said pretty good.
they did so many things right with the game, except the end game content. i got to renown rank 83 (out of 100) and I realized i was just going to be grinding out the points until 100 which would take months and then the only thing i'd have to do is kill other ppl. its structured in a way that people can just run into zones just as its going to lock and leech the rp points like that. so technically anyone can reach rr100 and still be a nub. besides that there is no ranking criteria, so really its just pointless. any competitive game needs a goal and that is something WAR does not have.

ok fair enough about the fans. it is true the game got worse as it got older and more expansions released. I dunno it didn't cut it for me.
SW:TOR is pretty much WoW with lightsabers. Nice PvE storylines which one of the best PvE's I've experienced so far. Levelling up becomes tedious after a while even though its mostly questing. Exactly. But it was really cool for a month...

Aye thats right they're on GW2. I'm not sure i'm prepared to get involved in another big game like that. maybe one day in the future. but even as games go my primary is warhammer fantasy tabletop (tournaments and stuff), then starcraft ii(mostly for fun and the challenge) and then mmos a distant 3rd. warhammer tabletop is my favourite but you need a real life player to play it.

The pirate: thanks for suggestions. I remember inquisition from before and actually it was my first clan ever on horus way before i moved to alsius (when lvl cap was still 50).
Awrath: I remember you, as well as reclamation.
Lucian: who are you? My knight was alaric saltzman, aka saltyballzman, aka venessa (mumble nickname).

1. Don't join "Elite of Syrtis". It's full of mentally challenged players who think Elva is a god for being able to come out of camo with a pet and dist shot-->ambush-->confuse 5 on unbuffed players, and the vast majority of them spend the vast majority of their time killing grinders in groups of 5.
2. Hutch has gotten infinitely better than he was before. I'm not sure if he players as much as he use to, but when I was active he beat jakOP/jakop with either justan ammy or with no boss gear while jakop had rings+ammy. He also became an amazing support knight. He is one of the best Knight players Ive played with or seen. He can do knarb, support or both.
3. Welcome back. I'm Oreo Monster/Blue Power Ranger

And so back to regnum, and after experienced the above games and others my view changed on regnum a bit.
- first, its not as pay to win as I had thought it to be....
see? this is EXACTLY what ive been trying to tell you guys!!!!! CoR is actually unique in the mmo industry and is doing ok! Also it is perfectly fine for vets to go ooff and try other games and come back! It's totally normal !
Good news Telwe - Furis Bastard is back, he even rerolled a new toon? Hutch is back from GW2 (he plays both). So is Evangeline. Elva never left. Hutch is better than ever and Evangeline with his strong knowledge is doing really well. Some players on probable break: Ultimate, Tigerious (was back briefly also), Immune (he left on break (again?) very recently).
Hope you have lots of casual fun !

You will never relive your PoB moments, especially in Syrtis.
Welcome back, I some what remember you when I did play with them in Raven.
Like Lucian said you can find some in mumble, Rump and Karma are strictly GW2, Shaia is on nerd mode for college, and slash is Mr. Business man now.
I guess you're right on one thing about CoR being unique when you go out and play other big mmo's, still doesn't hide the fact that NGD has been neglecting the shit out of their community.
Have fun in Syrtis, I'd join Inq if anything though. :harhar:

I played with immune during my time in alsius and also with tigeriuos on my very first syrtis hero.
Evangeline I have no respect for. A cheater is scum and will always be scum. and here is the proof. I don't call ppl cheaters unless I am 100% sure. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0Y6H6hctRI for people that dont know... that is a knight not a barb (so no spring).

yea Evangeline is well known to have that reputation :( funny thing is he posts on these forums so hopefully he will answer. but.. i dont think ngd will fix it, i suspect ngd's approach is to maintain the status quo if things are "generally" ok.

see? this is EXACTLY what ive been trying to tell you guys!!!!! CoR is actually unique in the mmo industry and is doing ok! Also it is perfectly fine for vets to go ooff and try other games and come back! It's totally normal !Yes, people come then go, but always fewer return with each iteration. This game & it's RvR format had so much potential once, but all things considered & honestly expressed, it's truly not getting better. In fact, in most ways, it's gotten worse since summer of '10 & 1.6.3. The fact we stay is one more of habit & hardnosed tolerance of this recognized reality (or the abilty of wishful thing to suspend disbelief) & the bonds of community affiliation than it is an ever-increasing appreciation of CoR....
Some of the changes made in that package were truly warranted, some not. Everything since (except the artwork, nevermind the lag & decreased FPS) has mostly been a huge letdown & even a humiliating kick in the crotch for those of us patiently waiting in hope for real & substantive fixes to gameplay problems in the code (the bugs, glitches, exploits, lag, crashes, class imbalance, non-scaleability to react to variable current online population, etc, etc, ad naseum).
This game could & should be better, but it's developer says they lack the means & it's sadly obvious as well, the will to make it so. They just can't do it, won't allow others to do it either, so it won't get done. Thus, they're on autopilot, coasting along, milking it for the little it's current inchoate, benighted form has left to give them....
I've said it before & I'll still say it again, because it bears repeating: "NGD, if you build it, they will come ... if you build it right, they will stay".

You really need to leave the treehuggers to their forests and come join the goats. When we get an RvR team going we hit hard and fast. We are not only fearless but we know how to inspire fear in our foes. Although we had a little hiccup this summer due to an exodus to Ra and the loss of core Support Conjurers we have recently had several new Conjurers join in the action.
Also, unlike the twig shooting Gelfs and the Barbs-R-Us Ignis, us Goats tend to be more balanced with classes. Although both Ignis and Syrtis have a few famed players us goats tend to have less scrubs and work great as a team, working towards group goals rather than individual fame. Our main problem is we tend to split up too much but somehow we make it work more often than not, sowing confusion in the opposition.
Several of our Clans will not accept multirealmers and we like it that way. We fight hard and we fight as a team. If you get tired of smelling of sap, feel free to join the true blue team and win for once.
Join Ignis or Syrtis. Goats have enough at the moment. Join realms that have a true need of more people. Fighting against the brainless herd is way way more fun and rewarding.

As other sayed - join Inquisition. It is old and respected clan with nice people ready to help and war. It is sad not alot of the old Syrtis clans survived... I remember the old fun times and miss you guys.

Goats have enough at the moment.
I would not agree with this. We may have been "dominant" during Feb-June. June-July was a kind of stalemate as nearly many weeks passed without much action with the gems. Now again, we may seems to be "dominant".
But the inside reality is - Alsius has very less number of loyalists. There's a reason for this I can point out. Let's assume the new coming player does not read anything about the game in advance. Now, portrayal of Syrtis (music, landscape, fort structure and etc.,) is of heaven or close to heavenly like.
Thus, people with pure white dreams and people who like to play like epitome of goodness tend to join with Syrtis. Ignis' portrayal is close to that of hell. That is, people who want to rule the world and people who want to be the epitome of all things evil tend to join ignis.
Lastly, Alsius' portrayal is more of Earth. Simple, snowy and boozey. Most of the new comers who don't know anything about the game join alsius only because of snow and the booze. As such, Alsius gets many less number of players to begin with and even those, leave in between to join either Syrtis or Ignis.
Apart from the meager amount of true bluebloods left, the "zerg" of alsius which you all see now are multis - loyalists of either syrtis or ignis. As such our numbers are only of outer. On the inner, we are few, though strong.
P.S: Very disturbing as it may sound, players from syrtis "infest" Alsius initiation zones roaming the streets like missionaries who persuade the new players into joining syrtis by acting nice (giving gold for free and etc.,) I created a noob char once as I was bored and one of these "infestation missionaries" approached me with some serious ideas of persuading me to join Syrtis. Time for the Emperor to crack-down on spies and missionaries in alsius, I say.
I know what you speak of. I saw the same when Syrtis done frequent invasions. Suddenly there was a vast number of unknown mid-to-high level players which noyone knew before. They cared only about gems and relics and invasions. They was not so nice, raged if this goals failed and so on...
When things in Syrtis calmed down they vanished as they came there leaving the realm in pretty sad state.
I do not think this players are loyal to any realm - i call them "invasion wh*res". They want easy win and easy fame and because they have several chars in different realms they switch and play the winner one.
--
I multi in some sort - i moved to Ignis, but kept my old chars retired and waiting. I can not delete them as i'm santimental and really really love my old conju. I sometimes log them to talk to old friends.

I'm not really sure whether you're roleplaying or you just like to write loads and loads of bullshit

Yes, people come then go, but always fewer return with each iteration.
I've said it before & I'll still say it again, because it bears repeating: "NGD, if you build it, they will come ... if you build it right, they will stay".

one that i should have mentioned in my opening post is that i have never played a game where the players weren't complaining about something.
honestly, i think the game is fine just as it is. it just needs to be more newb friendly. i think everyone should get a free 45 scroll, any one jsut starting the game should be able to go right the war zone. ro will still make money off ppl boxing and boosting, but at least the terrible early levels won't scare ppl off. that is literally the only issue i have with the game. the more modern fancy games have all these fancy interface and gameplay options and they just do my head in. i just want the bare bones, simple, rvr and that is what the game delivers. simple is good.
"the bugs, glitches, exploits, lag, crashes, class imbalance, non-scaleability" all of these happen in just about all games, and in some worse then in RO. ppl playing this game don't know how good they have it. try warhammer online... its excellent but the sheer amount of ridiculous stupidity in that game far outstrips this one. for example.... a healer can stand still and outheal damage from a dps class in a 1v1. eventually the dps gets bored and walks away or dies to dots after 5 minutes. An other example..... a tank with healing potions and ultra defense can fight a 1v1 where his potions out heal whatever damage he takes even with 3 minute cooldowns. WAR has its fair share of bugs/glitches. Damage casters are notorious for installing a nerfed button program pre set to cast a certain rotation of skills instantly... so they see someone, they hit the button and then they cast 4 or 5 spells in the optimal order bypassing the global cooldown. There are teleportation items designed to take you to the closest rvr area intended as a convenience to save travel time... people buy them to teleport them out of tight corners to deny their opponents kills.
^^^ and all that is from the BEST rvr game i've ever played. of course there are good things that make up for it which makes WAR fun but I'm just saying there are perceived issues in every game. don't think CoR is some sort of inbred stepchild. its simply not popular because of the grind, and because the graphics scare ppl off during the grind before the pvp.
As for this "game is dying" bullshit ...
I went to WAR, people told me it was dying. Same thing in SWKotR. Same in Wow. Same in about half a dozen f2p mmo i tried. Whatever. when this game shuts down one day yes i've lost hours of my life (which spent on another video game is still lost just the same) and 30 euros that i spent on boosters etc. I think I can afford 30 euros. But right now i'm gonna enjoy the game as it is.
