We think we know so much yet we know so little, mainly because we can't accurately see what happened 10,000, 100,000 or 1,000,000 years ago. There could be a cycle that is still in motion, there could be no cycle at all. I laugh at the scientists that would think they have the mysteries of the earth solved, even more at the idiots that award them applause for their bullshit findings that are only stringed together by more theories. There are numerous areas that we have yet to cover, so much that the human mind cannot even begin to comprehend. A volcano could erupt 10 minutes from now and engulf half the world in ash and our "great" scientists wouldn't know shit.

Sadly exploration in science has more or less died, and instead we tend to base everything now on theories. We invest in bullshit experiments like the LHC, when we could be learning more wonders from the depths of the earth by funding projects like what the Russians did with the Kola Borehole. I admire modern entrepreneurs like Eric Anderson for being part of the few people willing to take matters into their own hands.

I'm from Buenos Aires, some neighbourhoods suffered more than others. Where I live, luckily, there were almost no consequences of the storm (the government [which I'm not very fond of] recently re-built a tunnelled river that runs under the city, so that helped a lot). And this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rcGxXJ-teg is in the vicinity of NGD's headquarters (I think ~10 blocks); the footage is from another huge storm some years ago, but as the infraestructure hasn't been changed or revamped over there, almost the same thing must have happened on that area yesterday. Still, only they can tell how much has this storm affected them. Hopefully they are alright.

Afaik, this is what's going to happen.

Due to the melting water of the land ice of Greenland and the mountains glaciers, the salt concentration in the sea water is dropping.
The salt is needed to keep the sea-currents going.
So when the concentration of salt is low, the currents stop and the entire world climate will be affected, slinging us into a new ice-age.
At first the CO2 produced by human activity will prevent this from happening but in the end, when the oil has ran out for example, it will happen.

The only question is when it will happen

It happened before, when the last big ice-age was finished there was so much ice melting from the ice caps in europe and america that the salt concentration fell, causing another 5000 (i think) year of snow, ice and bitter cold.

Also: i read somewhere that the rising of the sea is bullshit, it takes more ice then there is on earth to rise the sea to dangerous levels, the ocean is to vast for that.

.
I'm from Canada so it will just be a normal day here for us. And if there is global warming hopefully it will give me a more tropical weather climate up here one day

On topic, hope everyone there is fine.

I wish NGD the best in this disaster. We may not always see eye to eye, but that doesn't mean we don't care about you guys.
