In July I'll try to run RO again after I'll change my current MacBook for new MBP. Thanks anyway. |

Argh! I cannot get the new tech to run through Crossover Games either. I just installed their version 9.0.0, but no matter whether I use DirectX or OpenGL, the game crashes on the first Regnum Online loading screen after the patcher.
I am truly, truly bummed. Please NGD, release a proper OSX client! I promise to buy lots of Xim and spread the word if you do. But really... I'm disappointed, but will keep checking back here from time to time to see if there are any updates. For now I guess I am Regnum-less. PS: I am using a 2008 iMac with the ATI HD2600 right now, but will be upgrading to a MBP with the Nvidia 330M. I'll definitely give it a shot again once I get my new system in. Fingers are crossed! |

I haven't actually, based on what I have read. Hopefully we'll get a native client at some point, but I won't hold my breath. Seems like porting a Linux client to Mac would be a lot easier than Windows to Mac. I dunno for sure though!

No need to buy Cross Over, regnum works in Wine, and Wine runs on OS X. Cross Over is just a corporate version of wine.

Tried RO on my MBP with an Nvidia 330m. Same results. No joy.
Maybe one day I'll just install Win7 on a bootcamp partition. |

X11 on Mac OS X doesn't support OpenGL, and this is what differentiates CrossOver from Darwine (free wine for mac) -- their distribution of X11 supports OpenGL

Hmm. The X11 that comes with Mac OS X does actually support OpenGL. Heck it even includes the "GLXGears" applications to show it off.

Has anyone made any progress getting it to run? Still hoping and waiting... I've tried messing around quite a bit in the Wine config, but I haven't gotten lucky.

Just checking in. I've tried a couple more times to reinstall RO and do some registry hacks that I found that worked for other games. Still no luck.
I'm starting to consider buying VMWARE or Parallels. Anyone playing in that manner? What are the results like? Go go OSX client! |
