Default Just joined Ignis

Greetings,

I just downloaded the game last Friday. I created three new characters and got one to level 10 in a couple hours. I made him a Marksman. I was also making a Barbarian and Warlock.

So far it seems kinda lonely in the desert. I passed two other people. I'm kinda looking for some hope that things get better. Here lately I've been playing around looking for a game with a good community. I have a lifetime sub to LOTRO so I always go back to that, but I miss my DAoC days where everyone lived for realm pride. I heard great things about the community here on other boards.

Anyway, I can't say that I'm sold on the Marksman just yet. Depending on ability use I'm completely out of mana after two pulls, maybe 3. Not sure if it is the same with all classes. Maybe I just got spoiled with my Loremasters continuous pulls. It seems Conjus are Hunters are overplayed so I wanted something else. I picked Ignis knowing it was less populated.

Anyone out there? Do things pick up and get better with more levels?

Welcome.
Guess you play on Horus?
Grinding becomes easier with all classes the higher you get, the easiest classes are mages (they can get mana by sacrifiing hp and locks can suck hp from enemies so you dont have to rest often), so i would advice you to grind your warlock fistly, they are also fun in the warzone at a low lvl. Marksman are not that great to play atm if you dont have uber gear, they have a good defence but to bad dmg ime. Barbarians can deal a great dmg at a low lvl already but they die fast without the spells you get later, so all in all id grind the lock first.

You will meet more ppl later in the warzone and you can use the realm chat to not get bored while questing or grinding. If you need tips for not getting out of mana that fast or if you dont know about skills you can ask there too.

Welcome to Ignis/Regnum... I to miss the DAOC days. RvR is alot of fun not as zergy as Daoc meaning all realms usually all run in 1 war party. If you want to camp bridges, kill grinders or just roam hunt you can do so in relative peace. 35+ is always recommended before hitting WZ for war party. Grinding is the pita do as many quests as you can each lvl if not you will burn out on grinding early. Quests end at 40 I think then a last quest at 49.
Ignis would be considered the underdogs being the least populated, Alsius(Goats) would be next in line and Syrtis(Gelfs) would be the overpopulated realm of Regnum. If you need anything give a shout.

+1 to you for being different and chosing the path of the marksman. i have dabbled in all the other classes and none of the others seem to interest me aside from marksmanism, but thats entirely my opinion.

Mana can be a bit of a problem when spamming skills which is how you grind at lower levels, but once you get higher level spells, all you gona need is recharged arrows and a good kiting technique which you'll discover on your own soon enough.

Theres a big balance update coming really soon and im guessing marksman are one of the classes getting a facelift so hang in there and see what ngd has in store for us

Welcome to Ignis.

Yes, the desert can be kind of lonely, But I have my marks up to 37 now, and he rarely runs completely out of mana, unless hard grinding solo. Marks can be fun, if a bit hard to grind.

Once you get the mana amulet, wear it for a +100 on your mana, it really makes a difference. On grinding, I tend to just use recharged arrows, shield pierce (skill for long bows to get the range, meaning more hits before the mob reaches you), and maybe one of the other arrow mastery spells.

Try and grind in a group above level 27, if you can get a conj to help you, then do so.

Ignis is the harder of the realms, but it seems to turn out more skilled players as a result, we can defend it against the syrtis zerg with ease.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. I rolled a warrior up to level 10 last night and choose Barbarian. He seems much fun. Now that I understand a bit more about skills and resetting them I may give my Marx another go. He's just at the 10 level as well. Getting to 10 was easy, I'll probably play them both until 15-20 to decide which I want to stick with further.

Last night I saw a lot of new lowbie Ignians online, thought that was a good sign. I also finally found a work around for my graphics issue. I have to play in windowed mode to enable all options. In fullscreen the world turns to brown blocks. It is so much nicer looking without Safe Mode turned off and all the details maxed.

Second...
you want to suffer man... unfortunately barbarians, right now, are good only for grinding and bosses.
Please reconsider your choice, 10 levels are not so many, do another char like a mage or an archer, it's much better.

However I hope to see you soon in war.

Bye.

LOL.. Aye sei fantastico !!! .D

my clanmate is just telling you that barbs for now live a life similar to
a very beatiful white unique Deer in a "shooting ground forest"

hopeful for you, you are starting as new one now, and the NGD promised
us that they'll keep an eye on balance asap (1), so before you reach
the warzone probably (2) will be a more balanced zone for barbs..

happy grinding so..

(1)--> ASAP mean, they promised long ago, and now they are really
facing the balance trouble...

(2)--> see the (1)
