Help with the patch Q_Q

hi guys i'm newbie of this game, i'm trying to install Regnum Online, but when the game get update to patch, appear "There was an error patching the game", i press ok and appear "Can't save game configuration" and the launcher closes... i'm tryng to open the firewall, but is the same, i'm running on ubuntu 10.04 without antivirus.. can someone help me?

Sorry Inkster, but that post you linked to is completely bullshit, it doesn't apply to Regnum at all

To the poster: Check your permissions on the folder where Regnum is installed.
It seems to me as if you get this problem because you installed Regnum as root (maybe using sudo).

Let's say you installed Regnum to the root of your home folder, these commands would suffice:

Code:

su
chown -R YourUser /home/YourUser/regnum

Replace YourUser with your username.

On Ubuntu it very much makes more sense to use sudo rather than su (not in the least because very few people go to the effort of setting a root password in the first place).

Of course, the Debian (and by extension, Ubuntu) way to do things would be to make a system-wide installation writeable by the group games and set the group ownership appropriately.
