Exclamation "You have reached maximum number of payments for this month"?!!

Hey,

I've made 5 payments this month: 3 x $5, 1 x $10, and 1 x $8. Now when I try to buy some xims it tells me that I should try again next month because I have reached the maximum number of payments for this month. I pay over the web, not SMS. The error comes from the Regnum site and not Paypal. My Paypal is verified and tied to my bank account as well as debit card. I have tried clearing my cache and it does not resolve the problem.

What is the deal?

5 purchases aloud per month per account. Amount of purchases do not matter. Read FAQs..

I don't know, but I can come up with some pretty good reasons:
  • So you don't screw the company with the micropayment transaction costs.
  • So the company gets a steady income per month (you will have to buy the rest the following month).
  • So they don't have more than a fixed number of possible complaints on failed transactions, thus avoiding to put more men on support.
  • Because they thought 5 was a fine prime number.
  • So addicts don't go red (and starve, which is bad).

It may also be done to prevent money-laundering.
  • The company that handles the transactions (if it's not in-house) may impose some rules so that if NGD ever decides to allow cashing-out or trading of Xim.
  • NGD may do this so that it's harder for people to build up lots of xim in an account and then sell that account, laundering money that way.
