Heck I don't use the noob or noobs I just say hey stop being stn . that = noob and noobs all in one . Now when someone does really good I say you did that like a cowboy = REALLY good or great like me

kieliszek got it right. A newbie is just new to something, hence he/she is prone to make silly mistakes due to lack of experience. Just like everyone else, noobs start as newbies before being demoted to noob status.

Extract from the Tribes 2 Annoying Bastard Guide:

"[...] a n00b has all of the bad qualities of a newbie, but generally also has some extra strange but useless skills, and does not ever improve."

The guide is a very nice read anyway.
