How to install Regnum on Linux/Videos/Beginners

This thread is dedicated to beginners on Ro and Linux
I know there are many advanced Linux users but many beginners asking
for help.So that why i made this thread.

For Archlinux:

Code:

wget https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/regnum-online/regnum-online.tar.gz
tar xvf regnum-online.tar.gz
cd regnum-online
makepkg
sudo pacman -U *.xz

or the simplest way:

Code:

clyde -S regnum-online

btw, replace clyde with any other package manager you might use.

Step 1, setup yaourt (script for easiest installing from AUR):
Open terminal and get root privileges (su or sudo su)
then edit /etc/pacman.conf

Code:

nano /etc/pacman.conf

add this lines

Code:

[archlinuxfr] 
Server = http://repo.archlinux.fr/$arch

Then sync and install yaourt

Code:

pacman -Syu yaourt

Step 2, Install the game:

Code:

yaourt -S regnum-online

Done

The package from aur brought nothing but permission problems to me.

Btw clyde is so awesome

just a few thoughts :
Ubuntu:
hit "cd" in a console -> youre in your home directory
hit "cd ~\Desktop " in ... ~ expands to your homedirs absolute path
you can (and should) use chmod without sudo ... you only need "chmod o+x filename" ... not 777

using terminal is faster than using GUI once you master pressing tab.

download to home, alt+f2, chm[tab] +x Re[tab] [enter]
./Re[tab][enter]

:P

besides i'd like to see you rightclicking it in fluxbox :P

I actually haven't installed RO from aur, I just mentioned it because this thread is about the easiest way, and I'm guessing installing from repos is easiest thing to do on linux.

And yes, clyde is awesome.
