A PC for the same price as a notebook is always better for gaming than the notebook. so if you want to play games, a PC is the only choice.

This graphiccard is crap! The Radeon HD 6310 which is in some netbooks is about 3 times faster (check the benchmark I linked above). But the availability of net- or notebooks with Radeon 6310 is still poor, so you would have to wait a few weeks.

6310 is the graphics half of the first Fusion APUs, isn't it?

@hahaxd
the first graphiccard Mobility Radeon 5650 is a little bit faster than the second. Both are fine to play Regnum in fixed pipline mode. Shader 2 and 3 should be also ok at least if you choose Direct3D as renderer. |

I have an Acer 3820TG (13.3" that sells for something like $600, depending on what CPU etc.) and it has an discrete Mobility Radeon HD 5650. I just checked and it seems fully capable of playing RO. However, I don't know what happens in big fights, since I didn't go to any, so I can't tell you that the FPS will be satisfactory. As everyone knows, the FPS in RO is a bit.. to say the least, dodgy.
But then again, you have to pay attention to the fact that I'm using GNU/Linux and that AMD/ATI is known for their utterly crappy linux drivers, so I suppose it will run more smoothly in Windows. And why am I telling you this? Two reasons. First: it's a really small and neat notebook that probably is the next step above netbooks that will actually give good performance. Second: someone asked about the 5650. Have a nice day!

Want to know which notebook graphic cards are any good try this list:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-...ist.844.0.html There is a CPU list there somewhere too. For what it's worth I have a Nvidia 9500M GS and it struggles with RO fort wars and Gate Invasion on Shader 2. But is ok with 10 v 10 wars and hunting. It has 512meg dedicated (and my system has 4gig.) Sorry thought of a couple of other things.. The 9500M GS is 132 on the list, the top few are SLi or Crossfire which is 2 of the video card stuck together and the comparable desktop version of the video card is usually quite a bit faster as they have more power and better cooling. |
