Default Performance problems with castles and possible solution

They're very performance hungry, I get it, but you can't just blame our machines for not being able to handle all those polygons that aren't even visible in most places of the castle.

Remember the disappearing staircases in Imperia's old model? Isn't it possible to make certain parts of the castle disappear while they're not in player's view range? The lava at Shaanarid's surroundings can't be seen at the door where usually most FPS goes down(from smooth 60 to 15 on shader model 4), whenever somebody would step around that area the lava and the structures under and behind the castle could just disappear to enhance performance.

Another thing that happens with all the new remodeled structures is that they cause a lot of freezes when loading. I get freezes whenever I go near areas where bridges are located. (Similar to when somebody in my friends' list goes online and offline)

Default

My FPS went down from my usual 15 to 8 in new castles (fixed pipeline). Kinda sad, but my machine really sux - it's old laptop with intel x3100 graphics card. I wish I could enjoy castles as they are without that FPS drop, but guess thats not possible
