I don't use either friendly shielding or material wall when I am playing conju. I'd much rather put a few more points into mental as numerous times spells such as prickling ivy/beetle swarm/mind push/will domain have saved not only my butt, but others too! I use these spells at a low level (except mind push level 3 or 4, prefer 4!), so I don't expect to do any damage, just to slow down my enemies when needed. |

Imo, it's better to just use the single-target buffs. They are more reliable, and both can cover their target indefinitely. They're much more practical in small fights, but still useful in large ones.
