Problems after download

Hello. I have a problem. After the dowload today and the ensuing problems with logging in that more people here seem to have experienced, I ran into another wall.
All my characters have vanished from my account. Their names are still unavailable so they might be there somewhere just not on my account. What do you guys think I should do?

Hi,
Did you enter the same game-world as before?
On each live server, the characters differ, this means, that if you create your characters on the Horus server, they will not be on the Ra server, for example.
Also, Amun is only experimental server, so no data are saved there.

Yeha, same realm (I can choose between 2) and everything like I did it three hours before. It´s completely weird.

Not same realm, I mean same world..
Right after you enter your password, the launcher gives you a choice of one or more gameworlds = servers, for example Haven, Ra, or Amun. If you create character on one server, they don't get transferred to other ones.

There are always three realms you can choose from - Alsius (blue), Ignis (red) and syrtis (green). If you can still choose the realm, it means, that under your profile, you didn't create a character yet.

My guess would be, that you are entering different server, than before, or using different login.

I´m doing everything like I did before... But now as you mentioned it, I got to choose realm first again and then went into same server as I was in before but with no characters. But I haven´t changed my login or anything. I can´t see this making any sense.
Thank you for trying to help me but I don´t understand what I did wrong in the first place, I mean I didn´t change anything. It changed for me, if that makes any sense?

Well, if you used the same login (and password ofc), entered the same server (that was NOT Amun) - and still got no characters, I guess there's something else wrong.
Unfortunately, I didn't hear of a similar problem happening before, so I can't help you much :/

I finally got answers from the staff and they told me to wait until after next server restart to see if the problem rectifies itself. A bit lame, I think, but what the hey. Only, how do I know there´s been a restart?
