Try to lower the water quality.
It helped me with a similar problem.

I know that there are console commands that reduce the fog and the range of sight and this should improve my fps as well. Normally they are used to make nice screenshots, but I believe they can be used for fps improvement too.
anyone knows any console commands for FPS? |

I have the same problems, but I have already very low details. Games like Guild Wars runs with max. details and higher resolutions with more frames.
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ GPU: ATI Radeon X1650 Pro 256 MB RAM: DDR2 2048 MB 533MHz OS: Windows XP Pro SP2 Someone have an idea? After some patches I get much more fps...some patches later I have this problems again... |

I just noticed a fps improvement by about 5fps, because I reduced resolution to 800x600 and used window mode.

Try switching between D3D and OpenGL. For some, OpenGL is faster. With me, OpenGL causes my fps to drop below 9 and would freeze intermittently. OpenGL also gives me inferior graphics.

Not to wander too far from the topic but I thought I was doing well with graphics til I looked at the pictures in the Regnum homepage gallery.
My graphics are way down as well. |
