D3D or OPENGL in windows, which is better?
As stated which is better according to the community same PC, same card, only difference is one is open gl, and the other is d3d. I play with the open gl on linux. And on windows i've been doing the same, but is that the right thing to do? or should i use the d3d rendering system. What does the community think?

I don't have any personal experience since I use Linux, but I've heard people say that Direct3D gives better performance than OpenGL on Windows, even though OpenGL on Linux usually gives better performance than Direct3D on Windows...

Hi 133794m3r,
It seems that NVIDIA officially supports the OpenGL API, so it will peform better on NVIDIA cards than Direct3D. On the other hand, Intel and ATI cards are Direct3D-based, so you should use Direct3D for these cards. Hope this helps, kind regards.

Hi.
I´m using linux and windows and with both i use OpenGL. It´s stable than DirectX in Windows and in this case i have a sort of lag. Some times the screen freeze out and then continue. |
