Guys if 2038 was reallly a problem we would have seen a massive economic downturn starting last yea—

On a serious note: most of the desktop computers will be x86-64 a lot before 2038. The problem are those old behemoths whose programmers are now dead (caffeine overdose, it happens) or retired.

Generally Air Transport people present the figures their ways. Like the ratio of death by distance done. However it's a fraud to intelligence to do so. Aircraft are not done to cover same distances than cars. When you take the ratio of death by hours of transport, then aircraft is just slightly better than car, and I guess this year it's not even the case.

As someone who studied a bit Air Traffic bullshits, I really can't believe thoses bullshit talk about aircrafts being safe. Aircraft industry is fragile, and in time of crisis I won't believe it's safe.
