huge titles like Agatha's Christie books are something basic which I already went through and I'm not really fond of her. And most of all, her books don't fit to what I'm looking for.

The girl with Dragon tattoo doesn't sound too good either /o\

But Inkster's book are interesting, some of them! thanks, I'll try to find them in Poland ;D

"Metropolitian Murder", "Underground" and "Taking of Pelham One, Two, Three" seem to be the best for me \o/
Also I hate any love stories/romances in books so the more action and the less emotion, the more Piz is happy ;P

edit: ah no, wait -.- first is Victorian, then no ;P

Not exactly like this but a book I read for English recently is very good,

Stuart, A life Backwards

Its the (real) story of Stuart, a homeless, junkie, rageous, self harming, 'psycho' part of the 'chaotic' homeless, Its a story written backwards, by the end of the first chapter you know what happens at the very end, and through the book as well as keeping in linear time with events happening around Stuart as the book is written every few chapters works deeper into his past and you discover what has happened in his life 'what murdered the good in you?' (an event Stuart can pin on one single event in his life) And through Alexanders freindship with Stuart we see who he realy is, how he thinks, how his world works, how even simple things seem miles apart between their worlds, at one point the meaning of the words 'good' and 'bad' are shown to be opposite in part of stuarts world.

I wont give to much away incase you decide to try it

But I would highly reccomend it.

God I love that film.

I felt like recomending "Brave new world" and "1984" but I guess it's almost like an insult XD

Besides they do leave a bitter taste.

I ordered two books, "Underground" by Tobias Hill (english version, that will be a challenge for my brain

)
And "Night Patrol" by Siergiej Lukjanienko (in polish, phew) it's gonna be something new but interesting for me, since it's modern world mixed with some dark slavian mythology. ^^

Maybe after Christmas I'll buy "Mexico from kitchen: non-kitchen book" ;D it's all about aztec living before any Europeans came. Specially kitchen, too, all the nasty stuff too ;>
