Exclamation you missed one: ALL OF THE FRIGGIN ABOVE

my experience with the new client is so bad i have decided to leave the game for an indefinite time .... i will probably come check how everything is going in a while but for the time being all i can say is that, i am very very very disappointed in regnum ... the graphics suck more than before, the game is slower, i crash twice a minute and .... the whole thing sucks, simply put.

I'm sorry i have to leave, i really liked the game, but it is just too painful now ...
----------------
And one piece of advice for NGD: this game has a medieval setting, how about using some more orange and grey and less joyful kiddy colourful graphics? regnum is beginning to look more and more like world of warcraft (whose graphics are childish and stupid imo) ... what this game needs are colours like those used in the movie "300" ...

hmm, my problem is lag, and performance (ex. at maxed settings with shader model 2.0 i get 8-17fps in wars, its also the same with force safe mode)... i use linux(ubuntu 8.04 specifically) with 2.0ghz intel core duo 64bit and geforce 7300 gts 512mb ram(driver version 173.14.12 latest is 190.53 i think) and 1gb ram...

i have a question (a little offtopic).
does nvidia drivers affect performance? do i need to install the latest nvidia driver to boost its speed?

Dont force safe mode, just switch to fixed pipeline. All Nvidia cards below the 8x series need to use fixed pipeline. And yes, latest nvidia drivers will help. I play at 50fps with a geforce 6200, can only play at 15fps on shader 2.0. I run Arch Linux though, which automatically uses the latest drivers.

uhmm, but it says my nvidia supports shader 3.0 but its so unplayable and laggy, so i switched to 2.0, i can play but its laggy in wars, the same with fixed pipeline..

Yes, it says mine does to, which is why we both get it as an option. Thing is, with this engine being up to shader 4.0, it means that its actually too heavy for most pre-4.0 cards, but they normally can do fixed pipeline with good fps. I personally found that ubuntu runs opengl really badly, dont know why. I think it has something to do with the patches to the kernel. Like I say, I have a GeForce6200 on Arch Linux (not for noobs), and it runs the new client at 50fps on fixed pipeline.

Sometimes the cast timer bar (the bar that appears when you cast a spell) disappears too early (before the spell completes its cast) or doesn't appear at all. Sometimes the cast animation does not play at all particularly on spells that take a while to cast and if you go out of combat mode while the spell is casting.

I hope this gets fixed. It can throw off your rhythm in the game specially when you don't know if you are casting or not.

The Grass still pops up 5 meter before the character. This makes the gameplay very choppy for me.

FPS seems to have gone down too from the experimental version to the live version. I used to do well in large fights at Shader 3.0. I'm now at Shader 2.0 but I'm still getting low framerates.

Default INTEL GMA and RO

Hi,

on Windows, with my X4500HD (GS45) Intel its now working with Shader 2.0 with a approx. framerate of 45 FPS. But i can't see any shot lines.... Same card on Linux Debian (stable) or Ubuntu 9.10/10.04 its all black. So it's still unplayable on Linux with an INTEL GMA. Also it would be great when Shader 3.0/4.0 is avialable for DirectX. The chip is DX 10 compatible, as far as i know and can support Shader 4.0.
