No Consigo Iniciar El Juego

Hola a todos, estuve mirando por el foro y no vi nada relacionado con mi error.
El caso es que al logarme e iniciar el juego se me queda la pantalla en negro y posteriormente me saca al escritorio con una resolución muy baja.
ayuda..saludos.
Ah!! mi S.O es linux Ubuntu 7.04.

Puedes dar mas datos please:

Tarjeta grafica, version drivers instalados, salida de comandos tipicos (glxinfo...), ejecutalo en consola y postea el error que devuelve..

Comentar que error no me da, solo se me queda en negro y después me saca al escritorio con la resolución muy baja.

Tu tarjeta esta soportada para OpenGL. Usas beryl? Has probado con forzar modo seguro?

Eso que te ocurre también me paso alguna vez con linux. Prueba a jugar en ventana, asi no deberia ocurrir nada del cambio de resolucion. Si funciona y quieres jugar a pantalla completa prueba para varias configuraciones.

Por favor si has probado ya alternativas dimelas para no estar repitiendo siempre lo mismo.

Pudieron solucionarlo?
Intenté desconectar COMPIZ y el problema persiste.
