![]() In my case, appeared this screen when in my kernel I put as built-in (*), in Device Drivers -> Graphics Support: (*) Direct Rendering Manager blabla -> (*) Intel 830M, 845G, 852M, 855GM, 865G -> (*) i915 driver I think the problem goes away when I did change all of them into (M). add the kernel's damn problem :P if you set up driver intel as built-in, problem appear, if you put it as module, problem goes away. May be it require some test to confirm
