Graphics extrememly slow during combat

My system is very fast everywhere except wars. In the first screenshot taken at samal shows 5 fps, it gets lower than that. I give up because just can't do anything at that speed. I had lowered the resolution and it did no good, same thing happens, actually these screenshots is low resolution. Rode the horse out on the hill and the fps picked up around 60 fps. The most fps i've seen is around 180 in high resolution. I'm using the latest stable drivers from Nvidia, currently 190.53 .... My computer is:

Ubuntu 9.04 32-bit
amd quadcore 9600 cpu
4 gig ram
Nvidia gts 250 1 gb

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Can you please post your whole game.cfg file on www.pastebay.com or www.pastebin.com?
It should be located in your Regnum folder.

I posted the game.cfg on pastebin because the first one said it was having technical difficulties. I'm not familiar with either of those sites and the only way I seen to identify the post is my name which I used kalgor.

Your config file seems incomplete...
Might be because of the recent changes in Regnum, and that the launcher options are now stored in ~/.rolauncher...

Try the following:

Remove the folder .ngdstudios in your homefolder
Remove the file .rolauncher in your homefolder
Replace the contents of your game.cfg with mine: http://pastebin.com/m6a27f200

That config is configured for maximal performance with as good graphics as possible on my hardware.
Try it and report back.

Helped alot but hopefully there will be a fix sometime soon. The game is playable. I seen it drop in the single digits just a time or two, mostly hangs around 13 fps in wars now. I did change the game resolution back to 1680 x 1050 and seen fps high as a little over 100 when nothing much was going on. I'm keeping this config because its the best since that update about a week ago. I appreciate your help.

I've been playing with the settings and have everything cranked up real nice and its still running very smoothe but one thing is missing. I played at least half the day yesterday without a crash, normally I would have 3 or 4 crashes in that amount of time on these settings.

I have the same problem. At combat the game is unplayable with the lowest settings while when I am alone it's very fast even with highest quality.
