Army of One doesn't protect you from spells too.

So barbs and knights are still quite balanced

But many knights aim for damage only, cause they think they get more RP that way. I just wanted to prove that wrong.

Yeah.. unstopable neither protects agains Twister, Stunning Fist, Ivy, etc.
It will in the future, but not yet.

excatly...thats my vision of knights too only that i rush less and more stay in first lines diabling rushers and pets

There isn't "one" single valid Knight template/playstyle.

We need "protecting" Knights who stop the warrior rushes; because if we don't have them we're as good as dead when Alsius rushes; it's very hard to deal with that many warriors when you're only with Archers & Mages.

We need "area" Knights (those you guys call leechers) because let's face it, Ethereal Mantle and Deflecting Barrier are among the best defensive spells in the game. Deflecting Barrier is even better than Protection Dome, both spells at the same time will cancel terror, lightning arrows, etc. Those "conju-knights" are extremely useful but we do need less of them than protective Knights.

And finally we do need charging Knights, like Alsius has... I know if a Knight is rushing alone it will divert my attention for a sec, and it's often enough. Charging works like a charm in the game, we can't always win through ranged attacks so we do need Knights to charge first. Feanor you can't compare Unstoppable Madness and AoO, this is crazyness. A DI'd AoO'ed Knight with Precise block is harder to stop than an UM'ed Barb and *a whole lot* harder to *kill* (and if Protector is on, it's even harder). The role is to divert attention while your teammates come and support you with areas; and Barbs come. A lot of Alsius Knights do it very well though. Of course it works better with more Knights (better if Onslaught'ed) and Barbs coming behind.

A Knight lacks the points to have a skillset covering the 3 playing styles but I think they can cover 2 of them if they will, or specialize in 1. Or make sacrifices and have a bit of each. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't criticize any Knight I play with or against, they are often the players with the most common sense in battle. When I'm rushed on by a Barb and have a friendly Knight nearby, I never need to ask for help, the Knight comes to stop him. Yet, if I have a Warlock nearby, I can dream to have him freeze the Barb. Maybe this is purely because the Knight goes for the closest target, I don't know, but in the end I like playing with a lot of Knights.

My feint gives no RP, I've tested this several times were all I do is feint and no for me. I've also tested with feint and sheild bash and still no RP for the knight. (my test consists of about 5 trails so not conclusive proof either way but if I get one hit in I get RP)

Seems like the system for non-damage spells its broken, a lvl 5 spells its equal to 900 damage but for now it doesnt count. Same with conjurer skills and support.
For now no damage=no rp.

But i agree we need more defensive knigth, killing mages its not the knigths work. And use Deflecting barrier. I blocked like 20 skills in a row with it yesterday at samal.

It does ,and if not that guy's you've tested it on had like 10000 hp and you need to make atleast 10% to get RP.
EDIT: looked at post over me.
For me it isen't broken ,my death sentence gives me loads of RP ;-)

Anyway back to topic ,yeah I've seen many badass Knights ,many good to but much badasses.
I think Byteme is disliked(by elves) cause everybody shooting at him.
So he's a good knight

Thanks for this thread, Znurre, I finaly know which of my three classes I should play . But atm I'm dealing with the best balestra ever, lag. It's now very hard for me to return after a charge when that's needed. (So I do rush in enemy lines )And I discover that deadsentece gives me problems(one way to call dead, isn't ) because I can't cast low profile as I did with my hunter.
