It's, by far, the best way to start a new character on regnum. Just needs more marketing. As far as value goes, it's a great price. And no, I'm not getting any commission from this. It really is good value. The only problem with it is, I know a lot of people have trouble using it, or they think they must use steam in order to benefit from it. This isn't true. Most likely, yes. But he doesn't always reply. |

No need to actually quote the above, just thought it warranted some form of redundancy.
One way to increase server pop AND keep the grind (NGD sales via scrolls) is to forget levels. All characters are automatically lvl 60 hp and mana, have access to all disciplines (can take any tree to lvl 19). The 'levelling' process can then represent the unlocking of power points. Nothing more. That means a new player can (for example) make a marks, bring it to war and do some normals, maybe a winter stroke but will quickly thirst for more power points -> grind! Just an idea NGD might want to have a go at implementing. Of course this means all mobs would have to be appropriately readdressed, but it's maybe workable. This way a new player can instantly join the action! Also, Ludwig is mostly unintelligible in syrtis chat anyway - his ludwig-isms lead to Syrtis casting confuse self (5) more frequently that we should.

I really think murging would be a great idea for the game, more aces to kill you know? :]
In Haven there are already people who speak different languages so i don't see the issue with murging servers. Murging best word ever, ace best op word indeed. :] |

The purpose of the actual roadmap is only distracting people from the real problem, and make some players like ... happy this year.So they can add new premium items and make more profit from them.
They see only short term. BUT what next ? the game is just dying and all servers losing players more and more and NGD watching (it is not only haven, look at Ra now and how it was...valhalla...).make me laugh people that wasting their money to start in RA thinking they are going to a better place. Ratter that wasting time on that shity roadmap, they can work only in : Getting new players(same players playing for years...). Fix bugs. Make leveling more easy. Bring TDM back. |

From the roadmap 2015:
Quote:
The merge of these two servers would be a tragedy.

I think the right steps are:
1. Reworking xp curve/grinding system. 2. Making PvE fun. Interesting quests. Not this "Kill 20 fuckubeetles and run back here". 3. Promotion. Players out there need to know there is RO. Everything else, RNG, class balance, TDM, jewels, is just secondary thing. New players don't quit because there are resists or jewels. They quit when they get mad of 'Kill 600 XXX'. Nothing to blame them for, PvE and grind in this game is the most horrible thing.

Glad to see that while I've invested my spare time to another MMORPG, nothing have changed here and yet another 'this game is dying' thread arises. So let me tell you a story about why there is no new players and older players are leaving too:
If I were a casual player, I'd have stopped playing when I found out that mounts can be bought only with Xim. Since obviously you do need a mount in game like this that does not offer free fast travelling, I was disappointed about that but decided to give this a try anyway. This was first 'this game sucks' moment, at level ~10. Later I also noticed that premium content is not shared with characters... Seriously? I stayed cause I was recruited in a new clan immediately once I got out from beginner zone, felt like I was in active game. Made boring quests and finally got that '5 players from enemy realm' quest and of course went to WZ at 30, only to find out that I cannot do anything but die and run away. This was second 'this game sucks', but I was too curious about how RvR is when level 50 is reached. Finally hit 50, had some knowledge what to do in WZ and I thought I was ready. Wrong. Sadly, nowhere near to be ready. What can level 50 hunter do in WZ, other than grind and get ganked? Not much, since either I got killed by Datten or I was unable found enemies that I could actually fight with. This was third 'this game sucks' moment and I was pretty fed up already since I had invested so many hours just to get killed. Well, glad that I had some nice players around me, who motivated me to become WM and finally hit 60. Yay. All done, now I can gank like a boss and fight with anybody? Still nope. Turns out, I don't have those epic jewelries and other stuff that all cool players are running with. And even if I had, where is the fun when there is no one to fight with as Haven is nearly empty. So here I am, fourth time saying 'this game sucks' and asking myself why did I not see the pattern before? Why I threw my money for developers who have not fixed the most obvious problems? Regardless of that, I wanted to take a look if grass is really greener on the other side of fence and grinded my RA hunter to 55 relatively quickly. Busy server, much action, but many player I know are not there and all my stuff is in Haven... That is the short story of mine. I wanted epic battles, exciting hunting and loads of fun, but those were fairly rare moments. And if I had given up at first let down, I'd have nothing positive to say about this game. It'd be 0/5 stars. So, how to increase population? New players will stay when these are achieved:
*It works very well in another MMORPG that has RvR(vR), has no subscription fees and is very popular, so don't cry about this point. Or cry if you will, but it leads to nowhere. And before any of these few points that I was able to type out at the moment, all bugs must be fixed! I cannot believe it that there are bugs which have existed (according to some threads around this forum and game chat) for more than few months. This is kind of a 'red alert' for me, it shows that either project is just a cash cow or there is no developers who know what they are doing and instead of fixing bugs they create more content that may increase the amount of bugs (and of course more money if it is premium). Bugs happen, I know that, but to let them hang around for longer than week or two is unacceptable and unprofessional. That being said, I see no reason to support developers who are not using the money they receive for making their product better. There is the root of this problem why players (new or old) leave: developers. It would be nice to see that I am wrong with my statement about developers, but I am not sure will I be here to admit it, if it ever even happens that is. That's all I have to say. Take care. |

The combat in this game is what gets people hooked, let's be honest, it's some of the most addictive out there.
Regnum should have NO PvE. Or, it should be optional for loot and extra experience when war is slow. There should be a training area where you can kill other players for the first few levels, then you're able to join the wz straight away. Obviously this would mean a major overhaul which won't happen, so please ignore this. We can dream. |
