Lets wait and see.
Just because you log off does not mean people stop playing as well. So being upset that your gems are gone when you log back on at a later time is not a valid argument.

I am only against gem lock because it is the system controlling the player base rather than the player base controlling the player base.

I would be for realm swaps to even out time zone issues 100%, but never gem lock.

Everything else in the update seems pretty cool to me.

20 seconds respawn will actually save a few people from having to run back to war from save. This can make conjis more valuable, and maybe even make camo corpse a quasi useful spell. (This is my only wait and see)

The boats are a nice way to invade for those that want to pinch both gems from different angles.

The forts look nice and provide a whole new level of close combat tactics in a closed enviornment.

about gems lock - instead of schedule times to lock gems would be better if the lock was dynamically established based on a percentage of total server population. I mean if ignis has 43% of total realm population and syrtis has another 43% leaving alsius just with 14% lock should be applied. Formula should also consider not actual population but population if 1h before first fort or castle being captured, to avoid mass log in or log out.

About the second entrance by boat i think its fine if it worked like WM teleport
10 ppl every 10min or maybe a little higher 15 ppl every 10 min.
and correct me if i am wrong but invading time is 30 min? if it is i would suggest to give invading time more 5 min to be possible 3 travels during an invading.

Oh, its turned into a gem lock thread. Has anyone considered that the system suggested could allow the gems to only be captured during a short period, maybe just a couple of hours and/or at some random time?

That would give everyone a chance at the gems but prevent folks planning their playing time around them and a lot of folks have asked for random spawns on the dragons for the same reason.

I think there is still a question that hasn't been answered.

Where do you spawn when all your forts have been captured ?

At the wall ? That would be instant death during an invasion...

You dont get it do you? You know, with ppl like you it's impossible to discuss. I know tons of ppl who dont play anymore at Horus. I know of other who occassionnally log in at Horus just out of curiosity.
You dont want to see that there is a difference between being upset and being so frustrated and fed up that you quit and dont play ANYMORE. Ofcourse that some come back but many dont! Get this into your thick head.
It is your argumentation that sucks.

Dont bother to answer cause im not reading this forum anymore. Allways the same s-heads, mostly iggies. No wonder so many good players dissapear from Horus. At the end will only remain a bunch of badasses there.

It is not that invasions make the game. Invasions are supposed to be done for fun, not for some damn reward. The whole idea got so wrong...

Anyway as i read it you fear that people will not fight you because they feel safe for their gems. If this is that you ppl think i...i just not know what to tell more. Most people play to have fun. Every single player have different definition for fun - was it grind, talk, fight. Invasions press people to fight and this puts stress to them. If you get fun from fighting 5 ppl with 20 ppl army night after night this is sick.

Do you know how many from Syrtis night crew left us, because there is no use to continue to try to fight your zerg night after night after night. Do you know how many from them joined Ignis to have some fun and to bully ppl who still try to oppose.

If gem lock stops people from playing i will say - HELL we better not have this players. Playing only for rewards, to bully others without thinking what happens with other realms and server.

What happened with old RO spirit?

P.S. Sorry if i sound a little angry.

People would just organise when to log on... or multirealmers would keep characters active in opposing realms.
The amount of people can also change wery quickly (Boss killing etc...)

You would spawn inside the gates, therefore door bashers couldn't attack you. If they are camping open gate, it would be probably certain death for them. I don't like this idea.

I don't agree with this. A RVR need at least 3 realms and rewards from invasions to work well. Sure, a population balance between all the realms is needed, but without some rewards, noone will have the wish to invade (like in irl i would say ^^).

Don't be angry Ieti. You have to admit this gem's block is not a perfect solution (yes timezone will give 2 differents RO). So some people are not agree with, its only fair to respect their opinion.

To me, i'm ready to give it a try with the hope of better balance in some time, but i think its not "elegant" :P or fair. Maybe some other solution could be done like Stooge said :

I say lets try for a while, it can be changed to if invaded realm has very low population the time that the door is open is reduced to half or the gem carriers won't increased dmg resistance or the gem carriers will have -50% speed malus etc..
But its proly harder to code so can't be done, i don't know.

Anyway, all this discuss about gem lock is OFF TOPIC ! It will be better to go on amun and test the new stuff to give some feedback to NGD

For sure gem lock solution is not elegant and nice, even too drastical. But server population is not normal too. Maybe it is good to choose less evil one to make server not loose more people.

We all want server to grow, lately in EU time zone we got awesome fights, alot action and tons of fun.

If night crews grow in time, because of more healthy and fine environment gem lock can be lifted for good.
