Windows 8 client downloader problems

I decided to start playing again on a new computer and downloaded the installer, but when I ran it, it said it wasn't compatible with Windows 8. I tried running in compatibility mode and it still didn't work so I checked the forum and thought it might be a corrupted file. I downloaded again and everything was smooth until the security check said it was a security threat and promptly deleted the file. Now it's 4+ hours later and I've still gotten no where.
I just don't know how to get the installer to work with Windows 8...I guess I'll try downloading from a torrent, or trying an old backup version and patching it tomorrow. NGD plz fix this pain in the ass.
Hope I can get this figured out- and get an authorization email- and see you guys tomorrow. Any idea's appreciated.

Has anyone else had a similar problem installing on win8 and figured out how to make it work? I've read about a lot of people having compatibility issues.

The download link for the installer says it supports Windows XP/Vista and 7.. so don't expect 8 to work

If not, you might be better off installing a less shit operating system, or try installing the steam version to see if you have better luck.

I've installing GameSamba setup version of CoR on Windows 8. There were no compatibility issues. Currently I run CoR on Win 8.1 - works like a charm. I suggest you to scan your system with antivirus - it might be a virus which corrupts the installer. You can also check RAM (use memtest86) and to be sure HDD (you can use HDD regenerator just in scan mode without repair).

I figured out the security issue, apparently regnum was flagged as a security threat due to a "bad reputation". Still not in game, but I'm going to figure it out after finals, since I don't have the time to at the moment. Also, I ran diagnostics anyway to be sure my hardware was shipped without problems, and there are no memory issues, HDD failure or viruses.

Hi, I am also running Regnum in Windows 8. I don't use other internet security other than Windows Defender. I just downloaded the installer from the site Windows x86 and it ran fine. Usually I had it after a fresh format and still works. Old backup files and old installers don't work with Win 8, you have to install anew. Before running compatibility test was very helpful when you crash a lot.

We've tested it in Windows 8 and it works fine. (I've been using it for months and never had a problem like that).

Of course, as Regnum doesn't pay the app certificate it is easy for it to fall into a "bad reputation" list. Not Windows' but of those third party apps such as antiviruses and malware detectors. Turn them off for a while if you have them.

What I can offer you quickly as an alternative install, is doing it through Steam. http://store.steampowered.com/app/222520
