Crystal wars...

During the Great crystal wars of alsius, who was alsius actually at war with? It isn't mentioned in game, but it is always glorified as a very bloody harsh war, hence the whole crystal island quest.

So again, who was the war actually faught against, and why?

Also, why are the guards still there if the war is over?

lol wow first time anyone bring this up that crystal istalnd i think is called is said it was a war ther ebut thats just a story just like ignis are exile from syrtis

I don't believe its just a story, our emperor has guards placed there.. guards that could be defending our border, its obviously important that they are there... so my question is, why?

Also many of our great generals and heros were said to have faught in that war... And they are still alive to talk about it, so its more then a tall tale.

Again I repeat my question.

Hmm... if my memory is not wrong i believe that humans and dwarfs fought each other along time ago but im not sure if this really was the crystal war...

Maybe the guards are guarding the Soul Monger ?

If I remember right, the Soul Monger was traped in the lake of ancients.
But it aint mentioned where that lake is located.
Maybe that's the lake in Lost Valhalla ?

The Lake of the Ancients is placed in the middle of the Warzone. It divides the 3 Realms.

Xymerald? Erm...Well I don't think anyone knows much about it...It seems to have made the monsters stronger, corrupted the lake of the ancients and rendered the capital city of Syrtis inaccessible. I think that's all that's revealed(well that's all that's revealed in Syrtis at lvl 22 at least).

According to a book in Fisgael, all of the runestones were placed around the lake of ancients before war began. If all of these stones are collected, it guarantees victory to the realm which possesses them. Since Alsius also has the runestone quest series and Ignis probably will in future, it makes sense that the lake of ancients is in the middle of the WZ...Some extremely powerful beast appears to be trapped in it. And even if the lake of ancients was in Lost Valhalla, the guards other then Crystal Guard 1 and Sephanszo or whatever his name is have no idea the Lost Valhalla even exists, so they couldn't be guarding it.
