Default exploit

What's the exploit that allows someone to constanly lose a target? pretty sad when a level 50th ignis has to do it to a 44th level player

If somebody runs out of mana from a mana draining attack, it will be as if he died and all people who have him targetted have to target him again.

thanks. it wasn't that. one second he was targetted, the next he was untargetted, and only archers were firing on him. had to retarget him like 5 times. I hope this isn't another exploit.

In all probability the player had no idea what was going on.

I think a lot of people get blamed for things on here that are out of their control.

I'd say it's what actually got me killed, not the tactics used.
Using obstacles to block the opponent's aim is, like you say, a commonly used and legitimate tactic.

Losing the selection must be a bug.

Whether or not the player involved knows about the bug and tried to exploit it, is a thing only he/she will probably ever know.

But if he/she did know and did aim to exploit the bug - then he/she should realise that this kind of behaviour is ruining the game for others.

A lot of players are thinking about, or actually quitting the game because of this type of bug abuse.

A minority of players are getting small, selfish gains that have large unpleasant consequencies for others.

I use to hide behind rocks, trees, etc, but I had no idea there was a bug involved. Please, if you have ever had these problems with me, report them to me in a PM.

Using obstacles to block linoe of sight attacks is not a bug or exploit. That is simple tactics used against ranged attacks. The bug/exploit is when you continually loose "certain" targets in combat. It has always happened some, but over the last few days its been unbearable. As a non-ranged attack were melee targeting is hard enough at a fort door it really sucks when that one more hit would finish someone off and you loose your target. Glad I'm not the only one having these issues. Maybe NGD will comment on this...

yes, what you described is exactly what happened. I hope it wasn't purposeful. Very sad if true as I am only level 44 and the victor was 50 and highly ranked.
