Default Marksman or Hunter?

Hey guys!

Just started my archer and as I near level 10, I'm wodering what, in your opinions of course, is a better choice? I'm looking for leveling speed as well as ability to kill monsters/players.

Thanks for your input!

Also, any build ideas for leveling and such would be appreciated!

Hunter= scout/commando. Specializes in recon and ambush, relies on stealth and speed. Can tame pets.

Marksman= Unmatched range, unmatched protection, and devastating firepower.

If I were you I'll choose Marksman because they have good defense, and very good attacks too

I play both, they are both very nice.

Personally I prefer hunter because of the speed constant and pet, but it's all down to what you like

I think marksman is harder to play well in war/hunt.

I know both classes too.
Hunters are often more fun to play and you can go survive in war zone allone quite well.
Marksman have better protection then hunters and are able to survive longer in the middle of a battle, but hunters have better abilities to avoid a fight (they can track and go invisible) and to escape from a fight (fastest class in game). Hunters also can have a pet that fights for them.

Marksman have very strong attack spells and a bit more range than hunters. For leveling a hunter is a bit faster in my opinion, but it all depends on the setup you use.
In war/hunt marks is indeed harder to play well. Mostly because you can run realy fast out of mana if you use spells that don't suit the situation.

Marks have a high attack, excelent defence, most range in the game and, here I have to disagree with cumeri, they can level faster than hunters.

As hunters don´t have that much power they must rely on tactics rather than brute force. They can track enemies, use camouflage and have pets, and they can escape nearly any situation if played smart.

The ability to kill someone whether you are a hunter or a marks is a matter of how skilled you are with the archer. The choice you must make is how you want to kill them.

Well put El Naso....

Sorry, I can't speak much about a marksman as I'm only a hunter. I can tell you the upsides of hunting.

Many many times I've escaped death only to return and kill them after they forgot about me. You can sit in a stalker'd state (camo for up to 5 minutes) and you have to ability to move under camoflauge for 90 seconds. The combination of this makes a hunter the ultimate preditor in the war zone.

As a hunter you must be mindful of the "fights" you pick because your attack is fairly weak. Even a hunter set-up to deal max amount of damage a hunter can deal is still a very weak class as far as damage is concern'd. Therefore, hunters must use tactics when they fight (not tactics the skill but think about the fight before, during, and after).

A hunter with a well thought out plan can cause havoc to many many people.

Whichever class you choose both are awesome in their own right.

As compoundious said hunters need to choose their fights. Marksman have huge firepower and better resistance to damage than hunters (with same evasion).

Don't misunderstood, hunters are not too weak, they are great. Basically hunters use surprise to attack out of camo. And they try to use tricks to control the fight (confuse, ambush, stun fist) and let their pet hit the ennemies.

Marksman are more into huge dmg spells imo

I think that's realm based. We all know how marks depend on mana if they want to do really much dmg over a long time. Given the fact that Alisus has less players, you will never find a place where there are always supporters/groups levelling, unlike in Syrtis for example (Somebody once told me about some part of Syrtis inner beach where basically conjurers and even warlocks stand around and level by aura/stat buff spam; that explains why syrtis conjus and warlocks suck so much ). I don't know how it is in Ignis but this definitely will influence levelling speed
