Default Long Bow vs. Short Bow passives

In the Archer skill tree, if you have a passive skill that is in the long bow tree (e.g. Specialist), is it still active even if you currently have a short bow equipped?

Yes however I would not put points into specialist passive one point is only +2% dmg and you don't have so many points to waste

Couldn't agree more... The Longbow skill tree is useless. I use short bows passive skills
