"Out of range"
When I try to attack from a distance and im too far from target i get "Out of range" message. In other mmorpgs games player character starts to walk in target direction until it will be in range and it attacks. In RO i must make small steps until i will be in range becouse of course when Im mage i should attack from distance. This is very irritating.
Using Linux version. |

Perhaps the developers could add an 'auto' mode, in which players just sit and watch their character run round killing everyone without the player having to do anything.....................

Funny Morphine... For a more serious answer your target should flash red when you move in range. You will not want auto walk when in the war. You will end up auto walking into range of 5 archers and get that quick trip to the save.

@Tyr: Thanks for answer Tyr. Unfortunately this red flashing doesnt work good.
1. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't 2. It shows too close range. For example it starts blink when i was very close too target but i go more far from target and I was able to atack. 3. Even if this will work this will only tell us from what range i can attack target from my staff. But some spells have different range so I'm still unable to tell from what range i can use my spell. If you dont want auto walk then i think this could be solved in other way. Lets say I'm targeting some monster. I think there should be some info that will tell us it is in range. Lets say it will have a second red circle or something like that. Second think. If i want use a spell I can move mouse over a spell icon and then I should see secondary red circle for spell if it is in range or no if it isn't. So when mouse will be on spell icon there should be shown state for spell. If cursor is not on spell it should show state for staff (normal attack) im wearing. Quote:

As Tyr implied, the decision on the matter is tightly integrated with the PvP and RvR aspect of the game.
Nonetheless, we might review the feedback provided in order to make it more user friendly. Regards

Maybe having a distance # listed somewhere of the distance you are from the character you have selected...
However, if you use your spells and attacks enough, you get a very good feel of how far away you are, and when you can use certain attacks/spells. I think this makes it more skillful to know how far away you can attack. |

It's me or ... i noticed the circle at feets of the target usually BLINK when you are ready to attack.
Something really irritating, particulary with slow weapon is you have to stop to walk for hit or use a power. For having test both tank and archer, it's simply heaven for archer while a tank can lost 5 sec becaus ehe just moveed a bit, and with lag ... So, if weapon could fire whatever if we move or not. A more realistic and maybe a rebalance between class would be : - Melee char can hit whatever they move or not. - Archer/caster need to stand to concentrate. Regards.

I think the distance info from the target is the best idea. Then you should just remember which skill what range have and thats all. Great idea.

Sometimes happen that i'm over the monster and i see the message "out of range" (i think that's a bug, reported in the spanish forum), i think that's the problem of arvenil sometimes.
that happen when i use a barbarian, if i use a warlock it doesn't happen and the flash red light is useless if you are an archer or mage, and you use a skill with more range than your weapon, the idea of the cursor over the skill dont like me, because i use to use a set of skill as fast as the weapon is able to do and put the cursor in every skill is a waste of time (i think) the idea of a "distance info" likes me, because you cant know the exact position of your target, the diferent size of creatures and enemies (uthgars' v/s elves' sizes, and the differents size you can choose*) make the knowledge of the exact position in an art. greetings *but everyone choose the "big size" always, why? pd: the problem of "stop to walk for hit or use a power", if i understand the point, is solved, because the reaction of the warrios is best, no more problem with that (that's the big change with the barbarians in the new version), even if you use a really slow weapon. About hit when you walk, good idea, but with the reaction time problem solved, is unnecessary (a barbarian lvl 50 tell you that) pdd: please, tell me any mistake spelling, the translator are really stupids sometimes Last edited by CGH; 02-24-2007 at 06:18 AM. |
