problems with my keyboard after regnum crash - help!

hi, yesterday my regnum crashed and upon restarting my computer I found a very very weird problem:

my laptop built in keyboard is not working anymore, not under windows and not under linux. but it is not a hardware problem since I can still navigate through bios. Under windows the keyboard would even work until any key other than those special function keys (adjust volume, brightness etc) is pressed. The problem even occurs when using linux live cd's or windows intallation cd. Anybody got a clue?

If I was you I would go to the store where I bought the laptop and ask them. I have no clue what caused this.
