Default Play on a Mac?

Hello,

I'm getting a Mac next week to replace my PC. Going to be using Final Cut at home and need it... the PC is ancient anyways.

Has anyone gotten RO to run on Mac OS X? It seems plausible since there is a Linux version. Even if it's under Wine, it would be great to be able to play once the switch is done.

I'm not interested in doing Bootcamp. I need my drive space for the video editing more than I need it for a whole Windows partition just to play one game.

Thanks!

It may be worth checking how it's now.

Hmm. Guess it can't hurt to give it a spin in Crossover Games first and then try installing Wine. I don't think the Mac and Linux versions of Wine work equally from what I've read thus far. Mac is a lot quirkier...

Was hoping other folks here might have already tried a few things.

1. Boot Camp
2. Wine/Crossover (experimental)
3. Virtualization software (Parallels/VMWare Fusion/VirtualBox)

Option 3 requires a seperate operating system to be installed (Windows or Linux) on a virtual partition. Quite easy to set up, but a little slow.

Ages ago there were donations and a petition set by players to bring in Mac support:--> HERE

But NGD quickly shot it down, and instead started it's own petition, where 10,000, yes that's right, TEN THOUSAND, people were needed to sign it. Just a simple "no" would have been suffice.

Needless to say, the future for Mac's doesn't look good.

I have a very small partition with Ubuntu running on it for Regnum. I think 5 gigs is all you need for linux+ro... Basicaly, install rEFIt and then run the installer on the ubuntu cd. However, you said you weren't interested in this, so ok.

Just a day ago (literally) I tried darwine and was getting a "no libGL on this box" error, followed by a crash. It looked promising up until that point... does anybody know how to install open gl for darwine? The crash happened right after the login window, where it would have given the servers list.
