"Alturian" "Esquelio" and "Nordo"

A thought just passed through my mind.
where did ngd come up with these names? do they mean anything? Where do they come from? Esquelius? Nordis? Alturis?

i'd also like to know what languages the names for each realm's cities are. i think ignis is some form of arabic, alsius is definetly a nordic language, but wth is syrtis?

actually ignis is a car I was driving one day, saw the car in front of me before some lights (red green yellow can't remember the name) and was like "wtf" then the girl stared at me like "what what cutey" and I pointed at the car in front of me "IGNIS"

I do not know that much, but I can tell most of the Names and Places in Regnum have something to do with real world, mythology or fantasy fiction. I really like this aspect of the game, it seems to be made by people who knows a lot about this stuff.

Syrtis, for example, is a region in Mars. Aggersborg (Denmark), Trellesborg (Sweden), Samal (Filipinas), Menirah (Senegal) and some other places actually exists. Evendim is a lake in Tolkien's Middle Earth (I think it was to the north of "The Shire").

You can find out googling a little and asking some fantasy fiction or mythology fans.

Syrtis is quicksand. The feature on Mars, "Syrtis Major" is a rather large quicksand.
